Re: Red zone?
^ a bit too specific for something that differs from record to record but key points: - make the mix good - tweak stuff in ozone to get a good balance, know what you're tweaking - it's not as easy as "toss an l2/pro-l/etc. with like 24db gr". - don't churn out a sausage; it's not a jazz pi...

Re: waves vs live 9 suite effect devices | ozone also
live's plugins are quite good but where waves shines over them is in their emu/post-production plugins. since you're still learning how to mix stick to live's plugins and learn what compression, eq, etc. actually do instead of getting into a rat race of 76 over 160 over distressor over etc. without ...

also do a disk verify to make sure you don't need to fix your os, that could cause some issues as well. go for a permissions repair while you're at it.

Re: Loading template @ startup
well not all instruments have a blank/single osc as their init (for example zebra has some other patch with fx) so look into that. try turning off one vst at time and see which one(s) significantly drop cpu use and go from there. even stuff like having oversampling enabled on a plugin can run live's...

Re: Loading template @ startup
what patches do your synths usually load up by default and what's your cpu? i've yet to see any c2d+ struggle with basic saw inits. anything more than saws might be your issue.

Re: Technical Issues in Ableton Live 8
1.) problem could be because of streaming off the same hdd live is running off of and/or your audio interface is bad/damaged. 2.) usually if you run a pitch bend while one channel is selected then the pitch bend will only occur on that channel. check you don't have your pitch bend wheel mapped simul...

no, you'd have to individually turn off all instruments and plugins on the channel in order for them not to use any cpu.

Re: 9.0.5 sounds different?
there could be an issue with 3rd party plugins if any existing pdc issues have worsened. if not then no.
well, unless they rewrote the audio engine from scratch for whatever reason and it's not optimized. though i highly doubt that's the case in such a minor update.

what Da Hand said. if everything is warped properly at the correct number of measures/beats then there shouldn't be any issues.

Re: List of instruments emulated with Suite8?
those with some clever mixing and layering will be fine if you're not looking to be 100% accurate.
as it were.just maybe not as fx-heavy as other instruments.
