So if this is a persistent prob with M Audio cards, I wonder why they haven't addressed it.

I use a PCMCIA FW interface on my laptop.......dunno what the chipset is though. Cost next to nothing on ebay.

Tried to delete......anyway, it was a midi loop problem that went away as soon as I disconnect midi in to the fcb.

Looks good to me (um, sorry, am NOT an expert ) but the HD speed is 4200 rpm in the specs on the link...I would think you need 7200 -definitely for recording, anyway.
