Hello, welcome to the forum. Yes, there are tutorials that will help you with the most of your questions. Take a look at the built in lessons. All of them are worth going through, but the intro tour and "DJing with Live" will be a good place to start. For what you want to do it sounds like...

My Oxygen-8 was a bit flaky on the powerbook but has been ok so far on the MBP. Sometime the Oxygen-8 would stop responding and only a power cycle of the laptop would help. Stupid question, but have you tried both USB ports? Or with a powered USB hub, just to eliminate anything funny on the USB port...

What are the odds that someone on a sports forum is wondering what the deal is with musicians. At the end of it it's just a bunch of dudes making noises, twisting knobs, or pumping their fists in the air ;-) Seriously, I know what you mean, but for me it only applies to US sports. I just can't get i...

Hey sadmac, dunno if you're still having problems, but I got my powerbook problems fixed. You're not going to like the answer though: I bought a new battery. Fixed all the problems: get 4+ hours battery usage now, predictable drain and low battery warning, charges reliably. I never get the "sud...

...Radiohead's Thom Yorke performed two live tracks.

Should be able to listen to it again at:

Yup, so it's the Lite version and therefore might have some restrictions on mp3 import. Sorry! Have a search in the forum for "live lite mp3" for similar questions in the past.

Alternative might be to convert the mp3 to a different format in order to import.

Another consideration for the original question is whether you have access to other speakers to make cross-checking of your masters. If you already have some good hifi speakers to use for a second listen, it might be worth getting a pair of monitors that are especially good in other aspects e.g. dee...

LE and Full should be ok, but I've read some restrictions on mp3 handling with Live Lite. Where did you get your Live from - was it bundled with some hardware?

I have a 3 week old MBP and am running Tiger. The Leopard DVD is staying in its envelope until 10.5.2 comes out and I start seeing positive reports on here.

MBP/Tiger is running very stable for me and very fast. Difference to my old Powerbook is like night and day, I wouldn't want to go back.

There's a whole section in the iTunes help regarding file organisation. "Consolidate Library" is the command I was thinking of, maybe that'll help keeping your files in one place. Dunno if has a direct effect on artwork files used to embed into mp3 files, but it's worth trying. As I said, ...

For the first question, iTunes should really be fine. I've had no problems editing MP3 tag info and artwork using iTunes. Remember to use the "consolidate files" option in iTunes to ensure that iTunes keeps all the files it needs in the right place.

[ot] Control

Went to see Control the other day. If you're at all into Joy Division or New Order then it's a must-see (in fact, you probably don't need me to tell you  ) . Even if not, I'd still strongly recommend it. The lad who plays Ian Curtis was jaw-droppingly good. Got goose-bumps when he started sing...
