Re: Pointblank courses
Be careful... your opening a whole conversation of opinions. I would say the best way to learn is from a personal tutor. Someone that can guide you through the process on a one on one. As for Ableton, In my opinion it is fairly good at production. Has an easy flow. I think for mastering and fi...

Re: live 8 and latency
You have any effects on that channel? I noticed my IR reverb causes a lot of latency as well. Try it on a freshnew session and see if it does it. If not then it is something to do with your settings. What are your settings? But rate and all that. Maybe take a screen shot.

Re: Organizing warped clips in the browser
I haven't done this with warped tracks, but with Midi it does the same thing unless I do it one at a time. If I drag a midi I created in the browser it works.More then one it makes an .als fine... strange...
Hope that works.

Re: Collection of Midi Chords and the Circle of fifths
Whoow! this is really amazing! how did you do this? I sat down for 8 hours and did it all by hand. Colored the clips, then organized... Good thing it was a rainy day. I am getting ready for a new album and am gearing up by getting a lot of pre studio time in. Like today I am working on collecting a...

Re: Collection of Midi Chords and the Circle of fifths
I put all the files into the ableton live library under grooves. That is where I keep all my midi patterns, drums, and these chords. When they are in there you can just drag and drop those files in your session. on windows for me it goes: E:\Ableton\Live 8.2\Library\Grooves\ and then I put in the fo...

Re: Collection of Midi Chords and the Circle of fifths
Thanks man! Yeah I find that when I try and think how to improve my own flow and share that, then I come up with some new ideas that really help speed up my production. This is a cool trick.
Glad you did it man and the time I took to create it is being used to help other peoples music.

Collection of Midi Chords and the Circle of fifths
Something I know a lot of electronic producers do over and over is write out chords for there melody and harmony. I have done it tons of time, and finally took the time to just make a library of midi clips for all the chords in each key. Took me a long time, but now I can just drag and drop the chor...

Re: operator clicking problem
Does this happen with all instruments you have with operator? If so it might be strange latency issue or something. Pick some premade synth and see if it has the same problem. I actually had a similar problem a few years ago and realized I was using a midi clip that I changed the volume envelope in ...

Re: Do you Love or Hate you Mackie MR8 MkII's ?
MR'8s are ok. They aren't the clearest and best for spacial information. I have the Mackie HR's and they have blown me away. Whatever you do make sure you have at least an 8 inch sub. Otherwise you won't get the sub bass. I would say if you are held back by budget go for it, but save up for the Mack...

Adding Spatialization to your Mix: Making a Bigger Track
One thing I hear a lot in electronic is a lack of space. When you listen to really good old school Warehouse Techno you can hear the music playing in a warehouse. Other music does this as well, and it's mainly achieved through good sound staging and Spatialization. I just wrote an article on adding ...
