The RAM allocation and handles are problem of the OS.
My Live is able to get i a project 3.97 GB of RAM on my Win7 64-bit system.
So please try to fix your mashine.
I think that ableton support will help you too.

From what I remember of Genelec is that they are a bit more sharp and not so soft washen in the ups like Adam. but their most advantage is their impulse response. you are able to get the smallest level differences.

in the end your ears will decide. in most cases your money bag will hurt

In advance to clear highs and mids and with your budget I would recommend
Adam A3x.
Later you can buy any solid active subwoofer and you are fine!
