I've never really used a 'one-plugin' modulator (not countin modular s/w) so it'd be nice if this does some wacky stuff, or at least anything near the Valhalla one would be cool...

"- If you have registered one or more RP products, you can request the RP-AMOD fx plug-in for free! - " Not *really* free  In practice it doesn't check, you just need to create an account at the RP site and then you can download and activate RP-AMOD, even if you don't have any other ...

Ha... I had no idea that this one would be so tricky... unless it's so mainstream and obvious that you're all just being sarcastic...

Re: should i opt for passive or active monitors?
Check out the Emotiva XPA-2, it gets stellar reviews and is a lot cheaper than the Bryston stuff. Quite a few mastering studios using these lately, including your's truly. Sounds good, but... and I know it's not supposed to be important... but... ugly. If you could just buy a Bryston face plate and...

Cheers - yes, initially I watched it because of the soundtrack, but turns out it's a fine film in its own right. Have to watch it again now...

Re: should i opt for passive or active monitors?
My 15 year system isn't big or pricey; Quested h108's(8"), bryston 4bst 300 watt 4ohms per side. Under 2.5k usd total on the reasonable market. I've added a tannoy ts12 powered sub for properly represented lows. Doesn't matter, there are lots of products that are just as good. No magic in this...
