I figured that was the case, thanks.

Routing to a piece of outboard gear in middle of mastering chain?
How do you guys like to route out of Ableton to a piece of outboard gear and back into the mastering chain? you can't render/export the outboard gear in the chain without recording it correct? Only way I'm seeing to do this is with a faux master and printing/recording from the piece of analog gear. ...

Re: Bitwig drops the CPU Bomb!
ShelLuser is right that test is flawed I was able to get up to 200 Omnisphere instances in Ableton playing the same c note in a 2 bar sequence and would have been able to add more but decided to stop there, Ableton showing 65% cpu hit and still very healthy, activity monitor cpu usage window for the...

Re: Bitwig drops the CPU Bomb!
I say nothing. Just pointed to the official Ableton statement. Which makes it look odd Machines 2009 Mac Pro doesn't (seem to) use hyper-threading at all. Could have many reasons… 2009 Mac Pro + Diva in Live, 2009 Mac Pro+ Diva in Live + 3rd party mouse driver etc. etc. Or maybe Bitwig is just awes...

Re: Bitwig drops the CPU Bomb!
Multi-core CPU handling FAQ – Ableton : What is hyper-threading? Hyper-threading is a feature of certain processors which allows them to further subdivide cores so that two concurrent threads can be handled per core. Hyper-threading is enabled by default in Live for computers with multi-core proces...

Re: Bitwig drops the CPU Bomb!
Guess what Live does? it uses only one of the two possible threads a core can use, in Activity Monitor every other thread is empty, and each CPU is only at about half filled before Live seems to bog down. I was always told this is how DAW's work and get over it haha what a joke, in my cpu window on...

Re: Bitwig drops the CPU Bomb!
I'll be honest with you my friend, this sound amazing. Actually thinking of downloading the demo sometime soon after reading this and getting familiar with it, what would you say is the hardest part getting use to when switching from Ableton?

Re: freezing tracks revert to prior freeze
If you tweak some internal parameter in a VST that somehow is not exposed to the host, then Live can't know anything has changed and will keep using the already created "freeze file". I think it may be easier to "tweak" something that is exposed to the host (or parameter in Live...

Re: freezing tracks revert to prior freeze
just wanted to update the thread with my work around as if someone ever runs into the same problem if I've already frozen a track and unfreeze, make some adjustments and want to refreeze without Ableton reverting to the original freeze, I just duplicate the track and delete the original, Ableton wil...

Re: Low Cut increases volume?
from my experience doing cuts always results with an increase in volume, I don't think its an Ableton thing(the person I learned from was on logic using a proQ2) so when using your ears and cutting until you can hear an audible difference then pulling back as not to effect that actual sound, or even...

freezing tracks revert to prior freeze
I noticed that if I freeze a track and then unfreeze it, make an adjustment and freeze again it reverts back to the initial freeze and doesn't freeze the adjustment I made, in live 9 whenever id freeze a track and unfreeze, make an adjustment and freeze again, it would go through the freeze render m...
