the other thing i would like to know is...
Is it possible to order an imac with a faster hard drive? or is the standard one good enough for big projects? Would it be faster than the drive on my G4 powerbook?

id say those office divider type things with sound deadining materials stuck on... unless you can create a dead sound zone, your fighting a loosing battle. If the room is big, youll end up having to deaden a lot of space, so trying to make the space smaller that you have to deaden is a good bet. wha...

what about some usb powerd speakers? I often work away form my studio and find that headphones get tiring after a while, so i end up using the speakers on my mac which are tinny to say the least. Obviously, even though my home speakers are comparitvly small, theyr too big to carry around! Any ideas ...
