Re: Akai apc 20 or apc 40?
Apc 20 or 40? It seems that the only difference is in space and size. You're half right; they are different in size, but not space. Apart from the size, they are absolutely identical, particularly in regards to space. I'm not sure about time, though; I think maybe one of them is a few seconds longe...

Re: Automatically prevent frequency masking with a chain fx?
I guess I'd rather use EQ and traditional mixing. And you can get some funny artifacts, particularly with fast attack and release times, and having a range of different types of transients finding their way through the same frequency bands etc. I'm currently using it in my live hiphop project that I...

Re: Reason Demo ReWire into Live
am I missing something? I didn't think that ableton was able to save all your reason project configurations? Doesn't it just clock where to send midi and where to receive audio? Otherwise you still need to open up the relevant project file to get all your reason settings.

Re: Automatically prevent frequency masking with a chain fx?
I made an 8 band sidechain compressor if that's the sort of thing you'r eafter. It was more for live use though, when there is not time to do detailed EQ mods, I wouldn't really use it for studio work.
It can be done though.

Re: Does Garage Band still have a perpose if I own live8
It's a little late for most of us but perhaps the progression should be as follows. 1. GarageBand for learning basic chops and recording 2. Logic Express for deeper learning and options 3. Logic Pro when you REALLY need to get deep 4. Live to turn your recorded tracks into performable pieces but ev...

threads not dissimilar to this one convinced me I should probably get KRKs a couple of years ago. Lo-and-behold when I actually got around to listening to them I didnt really like them.
Bottom line, just use your ears.

Might be some kind of FM synthesis graininess. Try mixing some filtered white noise and square or saw waves together in operator maybe?
