This is put to amazing effect in Tetra-Sync off Ultravisitor. Just revisited this track. Really amazing example of his range overall. At any moment it offers at least one of: prog rock drama, acoustic solo, mad programming, acid... His ability to blur the lines between rhythm and melody may be my f...

Even with 7200rpm external firewire drives I've noticed lagging here and there and there are noticeably longer load times for larger files, but its better than my experiences w/ USB. Especially for recording multitrack. Of course, boosting RAM can offset disadvantage here in arranging and playback s...

I think plugins like this are the result of people asking the same question you've asked here, but they seem to mainly offer a hint of what is possible at best. I'm not making a value judgement about randomly generated rhythms, but it typically takes more than a plugin to sequence drums or rhythms l...

So in other words it's more audio "Marcel Dauchamp" ie: Drum Machine Decending a Staircase neo-cubist audio train wreck with naive if sparse melodic lines thrown in for a laugh bollocks of the same old same old trin stroking variety they always cough up then I guess. Let me put it another...

Re: why all the hostility?

you soooo don't get nebulae. he's a cheerleader, he likes the vibe here and makes it a point to shout "hey, it's Friday, let's get stupid together!" That's "vibe" the same way the 300 lb guy at an office I worked at would squeeze himself into the same tiny tie dyed t-shirt every...

Set yourself up at the center of one of the longer walls rather than cramming the monitoring position into the narrow end of the rectangle. Even though your room is tiny, this should help reduce reflections at the sweet spot and improve your stereo image. I probably got that from this article: http:...

This utility is seriously helping me get over a lingering Reaktor sampling hangover I gave myself a while back after many months of instrument building and tinkering. Cheers, MDK. The map interface is indeed one of the most irritating aspects of Reaktor. The problem is that loading those maps with g...

I've had an Echo sound card in all of my computers for the past ten years. Never had a problem with driver installation, updates or day-to-day performance. This applies to both Layla and Indigo on cardbus and Gina on PCI. As someone mentioned upthread, Echo continues to support discontinued products...

That controller does look interesting. A bit heavy on the blue glow, perhaps. My question is why preorder an item at all? If I accidentally order something online that isn't in stock or available at the moment, I immediately cancel the order and look elsewhere or do without. I'm as much a victim of ...
