Re: Waves Plugins Disable Computer Keyboard MIDI Control
because there are a LOT of Live/Waves users who are probably very annoyed with this, and it also shouldn't be that hard to fix, since no other plugin companies seem to have this problem. How do you gather that given that, for instance, I just said I can't reproduce this issue? I've never heard it f...

Re: Waves Plugins Disable Computer Keyboard MIDI Control
So this is the response I got from Waves support: After further inspection, there seems to be a known issue with Ableton Live where Waves plug-ins take the focus from the computer keyboard. We are currently looking into it and working on a fix (not ETA yet). Let me know if there's anything else I ca...

Re: Waves Plugins Disable Computer Keyboard MIDI Control
I recently took advantage of Waves's "Black Friday" sale and got the Diamond bundle. One annoying "feature" of these plugins is that when I use them, I can't use my computer keyboard as a MIDI controller in Live unless I click out of the plugin. This is quite a significant thorn...

Re: Is it possible to automate parameters in clip view?
Volume and transpose you can automate within a clip. If you are needing to do automation of those parameters across multiple instances of the clip then you'll need resort to other techniques. In the case of transpose that can be really bad. Within a clip you can also modulate some warp mode paramet...

Re: Is it possible to automate parameters in clip view?
Envelopes are automation envelopes of those parameters. For instance, you have Volume chosen. That should auto, are the volume you have circled in red. Some parameters are not automatable but can be recorded in arrangement as you change their settings in real time. Detune creates new clips if you re...

Re: Is it possible to automate parameters in clip view?
Thanks for the replies, but I'm not talking about the envelopes. I'm referring to parameters in the "sample" box, like the transpose knob, the gain slider, the segment BPM value, and the transient envelope value. See the areas marked in the attached image. https://image.ibb.co/eka8qw/Captu...

Is it possible to automate parameters in clip view?
Am I missing something or is it impossible to automate parameters in clip view? It seems to me that automating things like transposition or gain of a clip, or things like the transient envelope value should be pretty simple to allow, yet I can't find a way to do it. Does anyone know why?

Re: Online production courses
Cymatics launched a new platform at academy.fm about a month and a half ago. I subscribed for the first month and had to leave (temporarily) to focus on other things, but imo it was very good and I definitely got my money's worth and more. They have really good Ableton tutorials--I especially liked ...

Re: Building New PC--Should I Wait for Coffee Lake?
Thanks, miyaru and jestermgee. Tbh, even though I've been reading about this quite a bit lately, I'm still not sure how single core speeds, multi core speeds, and overclocking relate to what I'm doing in Live. I just know that I've had some minor CPU issues with my current CPU (i5-3450) on relativel...

Building New PC--Should I Wait for Coffee Lake?
I'm about to build a new PC. Does anyone here have an opinion on whether I should go with the i7-7700k or wait for the Coffee Lake i7-8700k? It should be out in a few days, I think, so it's not really the wait time that's an issue, but more that it's a completely new product that would also require ...

Re: Post your most obscure Ableton Live knowledge
This is probably common knowledge to most here, but it took me forever to figure it out so I'm posting it in case anyone here is like me... To record automation without deleting a clip's contents (and without needing to record from session view to arrangement view) - un-arm the track you want to rec...

Re: the best book to learn about ableton in deep
I was thinking the same thing. To those who recommended the books--what's in them that's missing from the manual?jestermgee wrote:The manual?
I've red it several times over and it's actually well written and easy to follow. I keep it on my phone.
Maybe your after more i depth applicable examples tho.

Re: How to raise volume on a portion of the track
I dont know what you mean when you say automation. can you tell me step by step what to do? Thanks Automation is when a parameter (in your case, volume) is programmed to move automatically during playback at a defined section. The best way for you to learn how to do it is to read it in the manual--...
