When you play the actual set out do these fx play naturally? and only mute during rendering?
The only thing I can think of is that Reverb will not make any sound if you have audio that is mono but out of phase (utility). That is probably not the case.

Re: Loop without click
Maybe this is more of a job for a really decent sampling vst?
Simpler/Sampler MIGHT do the trick, I'm not sure.
One thing that could help you a Lot though is trying to find ways to work With the metronome rather than against it

Re: just got ableton 6 live lite...need help please
The Axiom AND Midi in general are a little tricky to get the hang of at first. Most of the tutorials are probably referring to the Axiom using either preset 17 or 20. Using those you can use Ableton's Control Surface presets and easily control the knobs in racks simply by highlighting the top bar on...

Re: drum racks & roland TD3
Your TD-3's MIDI OUT goes to your computer audio interface's MIDI IN. Two things to check for: On your midi settings for Ableton Live make sure that for your computer audio interface, TRACK is lit ON (this makes sure that the cable going into it is sending the note information into ableton live) Mak...

Re: Assigning midi key to toggle a note at a specific position?
Link!! Tell me if either of those two give you any ideas. Sorry if they are sort of ellaborate. They use the Racks Mute on/off with already playing notes. One is intended for the APC, the APC's buttons' columns are each a different Midi Channel so i made a row for each channel with clips. There is ...

Re: Midi map track volume for audio OR midi tracks?
This may come in handy, it should apply to any midi controller. For anyone that uses a controller with Ableton Live that isn't readily available in their Control Surface list I almost consider it an essential tip haha:
User Remote Scripts
It might take a couple tries/Ableton restarts so Good Luck!

Re: change midi assignations on the fly?
You can set your layouts to Presets 1, 2, 3 and 4. Just make sure that 1, 2, 3, and 4's CC# settings are specially catered to your plan (you will probably have to change everything using the editor or else some of the knobs/faders will just relocate instead of actually changing the layout completely...

Re: boostin volume..compression ? limiter? in which tk to put ?
That granular sound might be the sound of having some of your clips warped by Ableton Live? Is the tempo of the clip different from the master tempo? and What type of warping algorithm do you use depending on the sound source? As for getting extra volume, I am far from pro and am actually pretty slo...

Re: APC40 USERS...
How many variations of kick and bassline do you have? The best i can think of is assigning each individual button on the APC's first two channels to your kick and bassline channels. There is also an option to move up and down the clips non-APC via MIDI but you don't get the same about of feedback, a...

Re: best way to cycle through instruments?
I looked in my manual to see if the PadKontrol supported single increment/decrements of a CC# but it does not. Some controllers have the option to have for instance, two buttons assigned to the same CC#. One button would be +1 and the other would be -1 of the value. So if you had CC# 7 (volume) set ...

Re: best way to cycle through instruments?
This might sound goofy but what if you had Dummy Clips with the title of each instrument you wanted to use and those Dummy Clips would activate the appropriate setting on your chain selecting knob? (Sorry if it isn't that intuitive, it is all i could think of haha)

Re: Loop without click
Change the clips' Launch Properties. You can set the Launch Quantization to None (or whatever you see fit) and it will launch independent of what the Global setting is. Also "Launch Mode" allows you to choose different ways to play out those clips (or how you stop them ;)) Use the helper o...

Re: DJing in Live 8
Sometimes in Beats mode Live 8 now likes to use the default of warping using transient markers (the gray phantom markers that live automatically finds) as opposed to regular quantizations (8th, 16th, etc.). Make sure that you have your favorite of those selected for the track you play, and of course...

I made this: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=73e4ce82d75ba59f312dbd5f2bdc5062e04e75f6e8ebb871 There are a few bugs, and it is unfinished. In your MIDI settings make sure the APC is not set as a control surface and instead purely as MIDI IN and OUT for both Track and Remote. I did not change the b...

Re: Using Ableton Live with a band playing live
Is there any accuracy to using a lit button blinking to the bpm? If multi-colored it could help with the downbeat also. I suppose part of the accuracy would rely on the duration of the light blips. But if the light blips are coming from a short midi clip playing in live, the duration would be equal ...
