Re: Live 4 Lite is it worth anything?
on kvr have seen a few live 8/9 lite (which your live 4 lite is upgradable to for free) go for $5-10, and they usually sit for a while. i wouldn't bother.

Re: Rock bands, drum plug-ins, and pro studios
not sure you even need the triggers... if you have reasonable separation & multiple tracks, things like trigger can do drum replacement based on the audio track...

Re: Pentium M beats i5
if it gets hot, the i5 will throttle its clock to attempt to cool down (pentium-M does this too). there are some third party tools you can use to see what CPU it's actually running at, something like CPU-Z. my old dell when it started dying would throttle down to 600MHz. that would certainly explain...

Re: Multi-channel spectrum analyzer.
the melda one is pretty good. sometimes you can get it on sale at half-price (that's when i got it). you just missed the last sale though; ended yesterday, so it might be a while before it goes back on sale.

Re: Multi-channel spectrum analyzer.
some cheaper options if you have max4live: http://www.kvraudio.com/news/kevin-kripper-releases-spectrum-analyzer-s8-for-ableton-live-8-and-9-with-max-for-live-21919 i think there was a free version as part of the KVR DC12 but with more work to set up. this one is updated and hey, it's $5. if you don...

Re:
Which expensive reverbs are mono input only? I had a quick look around there and couldn't spot any obvious ones from Lexicon and the likes. I know some let you choose mono patches, but that's not the same as one physical input. the PCM70 apparently has this topology. note: like robert henke said, m...

Re: sampler experts - vector synthesis/ possible in ableton?
so, there's vector synthesis, and wavescanning. vector synthesis is, as they said, just crossfading and not _that_ hard. wavescanning, it's not really possible. but if you look at e.g. the puremagnetik 'waveframe' instrument, they tried to get around this by using an arp set to a really high rate to...

Re: Made the jump to 64-bit.. Aaand nothing changed.
I see much better stability with larger projects. The tradeoff is that I can't drag and drop files into live due to running 'as Administrator' in order to accommodate jBridge. I think it's a worthwhile tradeoff. sure you can... you just have to _also_ run the explorer window as administrator. i use...

Re: Bitwig vs Ableton - PDC Test (Video)
possibly dumb question... but just curious on opinions. suppose that the abes came out and said 'hey, just kidding, we fixed it and we put the fix into 9.2'. of course you would upgrade - but also, all your old sets could possibly be out of time, if you had adjusted for the errors - they'd now be wr...

Re: A way to side-chain the lower end of a sound?
what you're describing is a dynamic EQ, btw. never knew autofilter had a sidechain, will have to play with it. i think that's a little bit different effect, since the sidechain affects the filter frequency? when really you want it to affect volume. i don't know of any free dynamic EQs, but melda mdy...

Re: All Live packs get updated this week??? (ansered by Abes)
otoh, if you hadn't been checking, you wouldn't even have noticed. since you had, you almost re-downloaded 55 gigs of content to get some japanese language lessons. it's probably a good thing that's not automatic, or even semi-automatic, until pack updates are incremental...

thanks for the info. 200ms isn't great but is comparable with a lot of hw effects, i think.
