the latest update to Live 11.2.10 appears to have fixed the disconnected interface crashing behaviour on macOS.

you now get a friendly clickable warning instead of a crash: "The audio engine is off. Please click here to choose an audio device from Live's audio preferences".

You launch Live, the Live GUI disappears and there's a brief moment when the App/Session is initializing. That's when it happens. that's a weird one. haven't ever experienced that myself.
