Multiple Guitar Rig 4s + Ableton Live + Midi = Problems

I have been playing with Guitar Rig 4 VST in Ableton Live 8. We are in the process of building presets for Intro, Verse, Pre Chorus, Chorus, Solo, Bridge, and Fills for each song. We do not want to utilize a midi foot controller on stage. Instead, we are wanting to use midi note to trigger a preset(...

Re: can I merge two scenes?

Another trick you can do it group the two tracks, create a new audio track, route the input of that new audio track to the output of the group track you wish to record and your all set! Just write that down into 1 wav! Just have to mix it before you do it!

Re: The Little List of Tips and Tricks

As far as running a master click, I'd do this. Create a midi channel, drop in a percussive rack, loop it for 4 to 8 beats and you can completely customize your click! This seems to work great for me and I am usually running about 10 to 20 pre-recorded clips and 5 virtual instruments, this just depen...

Re: Keeping Ableton intime with live band.

I think you only need to buy it when you want to build a max plugin. I don't know if they are going to release a runtime for the new version or not. I guess we'll see...Keep your fingers crossed!

Re: Keeping Ableton intime with live band.

Just got an idea to move the tempo up and down. As far as on Windows anyways. You could easily write an autohotkey script to snap its focus on the bpm location and then map a keyboard, midi, or any device to send up and down keys! If you really want to get fine with it send shift up and down!

Re: Advice- best footpedal out there?

Infinity USB Foot Pedal

I wrote an AutoHotKey script along with key mappings to control up, down, and launch scene. Not sure how it will work on a Mac but it works well on PC. Very nice and streamline because it does not require power!

Re: Problems with "Warp" for live shows

Open up the launch box on the clip and make sure you have global set for the quantization. Then check your warp markers on the track. Hope this helps!

Re: Multiple outputs from Live

As confusing as this may seem but what you could do is setup the external outs, create another audio channel and route the mix as an input and then route that channel to the external out of your choice. And keep doing it for your other external outs if you wish. Look in the manual about routing. Goo...

Re: simultaneous Live

using the Network midi directions above from trknopnyc, I've got my MBP and G4 pbook Midi sync'd. What I'd like to have is the 2 laptops trigger the same cues simultaneously from the MBP using this connection. Is this possible? It'll work if I "ready" the clip in the 2nd set up, but I'd l...

Scene Follow Action

It would be cool if we could have the ability to do scene follow actions. The same way for the clips except on the scenes!

FYi, the Presonus Firestudio and the StudioLive both has 114db dynamic range and has produced crystal clear results for me.

Re: What's the best firewire audio interface for Ableton Live?

This is alittle late but I have to vote for the Presonus Firebox or FireStudio(Just because its rack mountable). I also have the StudioLive and FireStudio Setups and all 3 are great products and works well, Anything Presonus is hands-down great! If you are getting pops, clicks, and anything else odd...

Re: Saving External Outs on Group Channels?

FYI, I figured out a way I can do this. I created 8 audio tracks, grouped them, and routed their inputs to the output of my mixes and I will configure the external outs on theses to be for my firebox and firestudio rigs. So I don't have to do any more flip flopping.

1/64 Fixed Grid

It would be nice if 1/64 fixed grid would be an option on the grid of a midi clip & on the wav files. Probably not too many would use it but I guess I could get used to the adaptive view(A nice feature!) Could add an option to quantize 1/64 to!
