Re: how often is L8 crashing theese days?
I've only had crashes when I ran Live without admin mode. Loading live in admin mode in Windows 7 64bit I've never had a crash in over a year.

Re: Best Midi Controllers and PCI-e card?
The X-Fi titanium can be switched to Audio creation mode which sounds better the extra features are for games and making mp3 sound better. If you dont game though get something with strong ASIO performance and the best sound output.

Re: Best Midi Controllers and PCI-e card?
The Novation 61SL MK II is the shit If you want to play songs I woundn,t get anything smaller than a 61 key midi controller. It's used on many of the Ableton live videos. Im using a Creative X-fi Titanium card to suit my audio and gaming needs it has ASIO never had any problems.

Re: CPU temperature range
2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo max temps = 75c test it on the hotest day on full load. CPUZ is a popular temp monitoring app it showes you the core temps not just the overall temp. Have you got two case fans one at the front one at the back? An i5 or an i7 is perfectly safe at 90c on full load. Intel say...

Re: AMD/Intel CPU question
I would get the i5 or an i7. I wouldn't do a huge rebuild till 2013. The slowest cheapest i5 or i7 can be overclocked to 3.8Ghz with plenty of margin if you buy a third party cooler. In around 2012 - 2013 system on chip CPUs will be everywhere and Windows 8 will suport system on chip. Thats a CPU an...

Upgrade to Live 8 full now or wait?
Think I'm going to upgrade Live 8 lite to live 8 full in a week seen a lot of talk about Live 9.
Should I still upgrade or will I end up buying it a second time within the same year?

Some of my 64bit plugins come with a 32bit and a 64bit launcher thats how Spectrasonics does it with Omnisphere and Trilian.

Re: Live 8.2.2 out now
Windows Xp, Vista 32bit can only use 3- 4 gb max for all things running and only 2Gb per application.
Win 7 64bit will allow around 4 GB for Live 8 but when Live comes out as a 64bit app then we will be able to use upto 16 GB of ram.
