Re: Ableton Push QA
Simple questions:
What is the 9th knob along the top?
What are the two knobs on the left?
What are the primary functions of the two pad rows below the LCD (not part of the 8x8 group)?

Re: Live 9 Display 1024x768 WTH?
Larger screen sizes and resolutions are not an issue. 1024x768 is the minimum requirement. Most laptops have 1440x900 displays and I use Live at 2500x1600 and 1920x1280. No problems except that the font size is small.
Looks like that Dell is 1366x768. Shouldn't be any problem.

A few questions on Live 9 and Push with 3rd party content
Can non-Ableton instruments be instantiated inside a new track via Push interface alone? Can non-Ableton FX be instantiated via Push? With regard to the Live 9 browser, can it digest 3rd party content or will it only work with Suite/Pack data? Any plans to allow the user to tag their sounds/instrume...

Re: a scalable vectored font for zoom function
+1!
High resolution monitors with over 2500px (like the 27inch iMac) make the default font size unreadable from 15+inches away for even those with 20/20 vision. Eyes should be at ease, not straining. Zooming using Ableton's preference feature is fuzzy. Easily fixable with OPs suggestion!

Re: Monome App for Launchpad (OSX)
Thanks for the info. Haven't had a crash yet. Do you remember if this with the default mods or 3rd parties via Modlink?

Re: Monome App for Launchpad (OSX)
I haven't been using Monomodular for very long but I haven't experienced any problems. In fact, it has been very inspiring and I plan on using it with a Livid Code as well. The multi-device support is a big plus. 3dot, can you expand on what you experienced? I'd like to know what to look out for. Th...

Re: Device take-over behavior using control surface
Hey all. I just wanted to post a wrap up for anyone who is interested. I posted on the Livid forum regarding the Livid Code's ability to use all 32 knobs simultaneously for a single VST in Live. An upstanding gentleman by the handle amounra has already managed the python scripting required while bri...

Re: Device take-over behavior using control surface
Hey Funken. I appreciate the effort but I don't think you have considered the fundamental goal I'm after. I stated somewhere up there a couple of times that I don't want pages/banks . I'm plenty familiar with Automap and I've used it successfully with my SL25mk2 and previously an SL37. In fact, Auto...

Re: Device take-over behavior using control surface
Righto. Thanks :) I just started looking over the Code control surface python scripts. I'm going to post at the Livid forums to see if a non-M4L solution might be an option, but I'll be considering those M4L ideas as I move forward. One way or another I'd like to see this through. Thanks for the gui...

Re: Device take-over behavior using control surface
Hey Juan. Thanks for hanging in there. The generalization you provide is correct. I'm happy to know you think remote scripting can accommodate this. Just found something which suggest this is correct but that some python knowledge is required. (See list #6) I do have M4L but I'm in noob mode still. ...

Re: Device take-over behavior using control surface
Hey JuanSOLO. Thanks a ton for the info. I'm not surprised some of my confusion got transferred. :( Also, thanks for the tip on LIME and Bome's. These look very useful. To remove confusion I'm just going spell out what I am hoping for. Maybe this will also help others to step in so you aren't forced...

Device take-over behavior using control surface
Hi all. I'm wondering if someone can help me create some separation between concepts and realities. FYI, I'm still pretty new with Ableton so 'Blue Hands', midi mapping mode vs. instant mapping, the 'configure' button, etc. are things I'm starting to understand but I'm not totally there yet. My prob...
