Re: How to block automation lines from showing when i dont want?
How many lines are displayed? Are they always the same ones? Do you perchance have some controller that is sending MIDI data, mapped to some control, and getting recorded as automation? I admit I'm not entirely sure what your situation is, if it's not too hard could you post some screenshots? Best o...

Re: A request for help, and a warning!
Instead of cutting and pasting a bunch of the same clips, couldn't you just make one clip and loop it?

Re: Super Help Please!!!
I can't help you there... I personally use an M-audio Ultra which is USB2 and usually works, but I get weird sputters sometimes that aren't ASIO buffer problems. I can't say I'd recommend it if you have access Firewire, which I do not.
Ask everyone you know though. Even better if you can try one.

Re: Super Help Please!!!
No problem at all! Yes, even if your soundcard can only two outputs, Ableton mixes its own tracks (or channels, same thing) together before the master track goes out to the soundcard. So if you've got your 3 tracks in Ableton, two audio tracks and an acapella, then they'll get mixed down by Ableton ...

Re: Super Help Please!!!
I'm not a DJ so I can't help you there but I'll answer what I can. 1: Make sure you set your warp markers correctly. Live sets have one global tempo, and the warp markers are used to match the clips' playing to that tempo. Live uses a universal quantization, so if you hit the button too early or lat...

Re: How to loop automation envelopes?
Actually, you can loop things from Arrangement - select the range you want to loop, and drag it into Session View (hit tab while dragging). You can also program in automation into clips, which can loop just like the midi/audio clips. Click the little "e" in the lower left corner in clip vi...

Re: midi controller controls only selected track
I don't have an MPK49 myself (though I'd love one) but I checked the Control Surface reference in Live and sure enough, the knobs on the top correspond to the first 8 parameters of whatever device is selected. Now, I always find this to be a pain in the butt, but to use this, I enclose everything in...

Re: midi controller controls only selected track
The only way I know to do that is through Live's control surface support - if yours is supported, see if you can't get it loaded in as a control surface in MIDI preferences. That can get the fader taken care of, and then if you want the buttons to move through tracks, you can probably do that throug...

Re: Launchpad dosn't work anymore
Not sure if this is helpful but... For me (Vista user), the Launchpad is recognized in Live as a different device depending on which USB port I plug it into. The first port I use calls it "1-Launchpad". Having gone through a couple of USB hubs, I'm up to "13-Launchpad" now. Check...

Re: presets for vocals using audio effects rack
MPGK is exactly right - effect racks are a great way to do this. What you can do is put an effect rack on your track, and make however many chains you want in that rack, then adjust them somehow. In fact, here's a Live set I just made that does exactly this: http://www.thefighting.org/hosted/EffectR...

Re: Launching clips while DJing with live
I'm not sure I completely understand your problem, but it sounds like maybe you're launching the new clip right on the beat, but it waits one bar before it actually starts playing... does this sound right? If so, it's the universal quantization that's giving you trouble. I like to leave it at one ba...

Re: Controller feedback problem. Help!!
I believe this is correct. If I recall correctly, Live sends feedback out on the same note/CC that was mapped. I do not believe there is a way to change this. So if you want to route it differently, you'll need Bome's or something equivalent.
