Make position in MIDI note editor mirror arrangement?
Is there a way to position the play cursor/insertion point in the arrangement view and have the MIDI note editor view also place it's selection/insertion point in the same spot in the clip you are viewing? I am trying to match up MIDI notes to timing of audio on a track but the process is really ted...

Re: Mapping of multiple samples in sampler to individual keys
drop all the samples on Sampler, select them all in the key zone editor, and it will tell you the number of samples selected in the main window of Sampler. lets say there are 35 and you want them to start from C1 upwards; with all samples still selected in the zone edit window, drag the left edge o...

Mapping of multiple samples in sampler to individual keys
Rather than "distribute ranges equally/around root key", is there some way to drop like 20 samples into Sampler and map them each to an individual key instead of a range of keys other than individually resizing the zone and moving it to the right key for every sample? This happens intuitiv...

Re: transposing entire song
This pair of Max for Live devices worked for me, and was much simpler to use than any other method of transposing multiple MIDI tracks.

Re: TransposerRT MaxForLive MIDI Pitch Shift Multicaster
Wow. I can't believe this post has no replies. This is the global MIDI transpose feature that Live is missing OOTB. Thank you so much for creating and sharing this!

Ah cool. Thanks for the info! It's still not exactly what I wanted to do, but may be close close enough.WhiteNoise0 wrote: No, not directly. You can use 'Max Api CtrlMIDInote' device to control RM frequency, and configure it to match the freq range of an oscillator.

Re: Amplitude modulation using an oscillator as a modulator?
What about the ring mod in the frequency shifter device? Ring mod is pretty much AM Pretty much, but not really. The difference between amplitude modulation and ring modulation is that in AM the carrier frequency is preserved and the sidebands generated are at half the amplitude of the carrier ampl...

Re: Amplitude modulation using an oscillator as a modulator?
Yeah. Sort of how frequency modulation is the same as pitch shifting.Steve Glen wrote:oh whoops. You don't want to modulate the amplitude, you want amplitude modulation. Right, ok.

Re: Amplitude modulation using an oscillator as a modulator?
You can use the sidechain feature in either Compressor or Gate. These are built right into Live. Place these devices on the track you are trying to modulate, then engage SC and select the oscillator as your source. Please elaborate. I don't see how using an operator via sidechain will create amplit...

Re: Transposing audio down (not warped) creates artifacts?
Do you have the HiQ button on or off? I don't know if that'd make any difference at all but I figure it is one thing you can play with. Oh man. I don't know how the heck I wasn't aware of this. Not only was the HiQ mode not active for the clip I was transposing, but the setting in Live's preference...

Re: Amplitude modulation using an oscillator as a modulator?
You need an audio effect that's actually modulating the audio directly. That Tremellow device should work, but I'm not in front of it right now to know what the frequency range is on it. Whatever the range is, I bet I could edit the M4L device and tweak it to get it to the range I want. Oh man how ...

Re: Transposing audio down (not warped) creates artifacts?
Is there something I am missing or doing wrong? It should be really easy to play a sound at a lower sample rate without creating artificial high frequency content. But every time I have a sample I want to pitch down 1-2 octaves, using an FFT analyzer I can see stuff happening in the high end that s...

Re: Amplitude modulation using an oscillator as a modulator?
If you have Max 4 Live, you can use LFO, or even better in this case, LFO 2.0.5 http://www.roberthenke.com/technology/lfo.html If you don't have it, pester Ableton to make these devices native, as we all do. I tried the LFO 2.0, mapping it to the track volume. But it seems like when I modulate at h...

Re: Transposing audio down (not warped) creates artifacts?
why do you think it should be "really easy" to achieve without artifacts? at its simplest, going down an octave or two means halving or quartering the playback rate of the samples. how do you then fill in the missing half or three quarters of the samples that don't exist in the original s...
