recommend me CD decks? (probly 4use with a DVS)
I basically want the convenience of turning up to a DJ set with nothing but some CDs - no cabling, no rearranging gear to make room. (In saying that, i will probly go Serato ASAP... but still... less hsssle) I have no previous experience with decks. I see alot of clubs have the Pioneer 1000mk3's If ...

Re: iTunes just shat in my mouth (forgotten song info)
Looking at permissions. "Me" is listed as Read & Write "Staff" is listed as Read Only "Everyone" is listed as Read Only It seems only the "Me" part would matter coz I have no other accunts and never log on any other way. Now that I think of it, I heard tha...

Re: iTunes just shat in my mouth (forgotten song info)
Thanks for the links.
The 're-creating library file' tip won't help coz iTunes is actually showing the "correct" info according to the tags
ie select the mp3 in Finder, Cmd+i, info box shows the old info which was there before I started tagging in iTunes.
Weird!
Any more ideas?

Re: Automatic mp3 tagging software?
thanks for the suggestions but I need something for Mac.
I've found MusicBrainz's Picard, and FixTunes.
Has anyone experienced these?
Or any other automatic mp3 taggers for Mac?
Thanks.

Re: iTunes just shat in my mouth (forgotten song info)
Mostly MP3s, some wavs. I have Time Machine running hourly backups whic would have backups of the iTunes Library and xml files. But that doesn't help, coz it's happening gradually, so from which backup would i take the files? Also it is still happening. I've googled this a fair bit and haven't found...

Re: Recommended External Firewire Soundcards?
Motu UltraLite if you're on Mac.
Not saying it's bad on PC, just that I've never heard either way.
UltraLite is pretty small, light, real sturdy build, and lots of people swear by how stable they are... including me.
Had mine for bout a year now and never a problem.

Select a bunch of tracks in iTunes and hit Cmd+Shift+n.
That puts all the selected tracks into a playlist and opens it's name for editing in the sidebar

iTunes just shat in my mouth (forgotten song info)
I've been adding info to songs in iTunes for a few weeks now. Averted disaster bout a week ago when i moved my Library (the wrong way) but got everything back working again. Link Today I noticed that iTunes has 'forgotten' the info i added and reverted to the old info (or lack thereof). Not all, but...

Re: iTunes Library question
Thanks for the replies. That Option-Launch is interesting. I could use this for keeping cropped and warped versions of the tunes I DJ with (along with their .asd files) That way I could still fin them quickly without needing a HUGE set. At the moment, my DJ set is 37GB!! and u can imagine how much s...

iTunes Library question
I've seen a few articles on how to move iTunes Library without screwing it up. All say to first allocate a new Lib location via iTunes and then use Consolidate. But one or two ( example ) also said to copy the files "iTunes Library.itl" and "iTunes Library". Is this necessary? Am...
