Re: Akai MAx49 setup w/ live lite 11
It looks like you need to download and install some files. There is not default support. Hopefully this isn’t too old where some of the functionality might be broken. The files are on this site and the instructions are in the Programs Manual (I think that’s what it was called) https://www.akaipro.co...

Re: Issue with Ableton Live Recognizing AKAI APC 40 MK2 and Akai Midimix as Separate Controllers
Manual midi mapping only applies to controllers with Remote turned on in midi preferences. If the APC has Remote off, it will still use its default functions but it will not have its controls overridden with midi mapping. Alternatively, if you’re able to change the ‘midi channel’ of either controlle...

Re: Increasing BPM slows the tempo!?
Do you have Warp turned on in the clip? It sounds like it should be on if you have a bpm set for one of the markers in the clip.

Re: how to make audio less phat so i can do splicing
For slicing parts, I’d zoom in a little more. You’re zoomed way too far out unless that clip is like 4 seconds long. It should at least show patterns and parts where there are audible percussive from the speech. For the audio quality, I guess I’d make sure that Live isn’t making the audio quality an...

Re: Ableton native devices to receive CC signal
Most midi cc for live native devices would have to be midi mapped, which is fine from midi input control devices from Preferences. Things selected for ‘Remote’. As mentioned above, to do this, you’d kind of have to route midi out of Live and then back into Live, which is far from ideal. You might ev...

Re: When will Live 12 be released ?
serious question—or more of a curiosity. have they really traditionally released on Tuesdays? I only have one Ableton release under my belt, so far. 🙃 I think it gives them all a twisted motivating smile at headquarters when they develop and fine tune Ableton Live thinking in the back of their head...

Re: Ableton cutting off first few seconds of audio clip (wav)
It might’ve been auto-warped in the past by dragging it into a set on a date that was before you changed the setting in preferences. If you turn warp off and set the start point to zero, you can hit Save inside the clip and it should work out

Re: Solo ignores track mute automation
Are you sure that no other DAW behaves this way?? In my experience, you can solo a muted track. I guess it might be unique from software to software (or hardware?) There is also the possibility of adding Utility or an Audio Rack for mute automation. Actually I’m not sure about Utility. I know that p...

Re: Ableton Mixer - Touchscreen
Two things to keep in mind. 1. There is a Relative / Absolute mouse mode in preferences. Touch is absolute, what you touch is where something is positioned. Relative is like a mouse where the pointer begins a point and movement is relative to that click position. 2. Live does not support ‘multi-touc...

Re: No tempo change possible in Lite version?
Global tempo change is done on the Master channel.
Songs loaded will respond to global tempo change depending on how they are ‘warped’. If they are warped properly, then the tempo of the clip will be the same as the global tempo automation.

Re: Is my recorded audio warped?
It records unwarped, the original recording is clean. But by default Live will ‘activate’ Warp with the assumption that you want the clip to stay locked in tempo. This confuses a lot of people but it is great that you noticed it. You’re asking the right questions. So, Warp is ‘non-destructive’, as i...

Re: Individually adjust Live-Device parameters for Remote
Preditor might be the way to go. The thing to realize is that it is not a simple automatic task. I think I’ve seen one or two other solutions a number of years ago. But based on what I saw on the preditor site and some YouTube vids it is created to allow you to edit the Default layout of the devices...

I tried it out and had the same experience. I could swear k recently saw news of a beta of a near future update that involved additional midi features. I don’t remember which platform of social media I saw that

Re: ONLY record AUTOMATION when the track is ARMED to RECORD
Well. I call it learn to distinguish it from mapping. But it is basically the midi mapping you’d do from within any plugin. The key is to not have those controls already dedicated to something in Live. For example, The mod wheel already just works in a plugin. Most synth plugins respond to cc 74 (I ...
