Messing with OSX folders
I like organizing my vsti in different groups. A folder for synths, a folder for samplers and romplers, a folder for effects…etc. The question is: Is it ok to go into OSX's library/audio/plugins, and mess around with the Audio Unit folders to do the same. I tried moving some stuff before and It didn...

Organization: where to keep homemade racks
Trying to stay organized here; I'm a bit neurotic about this shit…. Where do you keep your homemade instrument racks and effect racks? do you just drag them to the browser and let ableton throw them in the library? or do you have a separate folder in your documents? How does this affect upgrading Li...

past version presets
Hey all, So I installed the latest copy of ableton in a new computer and I'm not seeing some of the old instrument presets that I regularly used in my old computer. Maybe they where discontinued banks that I had been carrying from previous versions where I just merged libraries…? Is there a place wh...

Autotalent crashes Live
Just thought I pass it along:
http://www.olilarkin.co.uk/index.php?p=freeplugins
Autotalent (for lack of mac gsnap) is crashing Live on a Snow Leopard MBP OSX 10.6.3. I'm running the latest Live.
Paz.

Re: mac wave editor
Well, evetually I'm gonna buy Logic; and I'm not sure but I would guess that Logic has a quality editor…
In the mean time, i would like something pretty close to free. That's why I'm looking into Audacity.
Wavelab sounds sweet though...

mac wave editor
Hey all. Recently moved from pc to mac. So, along with many vst goodbyes, I'm parting ways with my trusty old copy of cool edit. Still haven't tried audacity, but want to hear some feedback about it. You know, the usual duties: Fades, format conversions, zoom in to check for problems…and I also use ...

it used to be an argument that one is 'sexier' than the other, but now that everybody and their mother has a glowing logo i don't believe it anymore.

au lost presets
I'm new to Mac world, and there's a couple of things that are puzzling me. AU. When I install a au version of a plugin (eg. impOscar), i can't find the plugin banks and presets, and even if I do, I'm not sure how to load them...the little open folder icon is missing... VSTs I have a lovely collectio...

Re: Playing out using live in windows on a macbook pro?
Classic. I've seen this question asked many times, and always people have to rag about why run windows on mac, or they tell you to get mac equivalent effects, or to get a pcetc. Well, some of us have been working on music for a long time, and for some reason decided to switch (or to try) the alterna...

Re: Resampling softsynth trick?
Would be cool if this would be a feature of sampler....Load vst in sampler, render chromatic, unload, voila new patch. Direct wave in fruity can do this, but the problem is, it has it's own file format, can't open this in sampler. I know. Directwave does it very nicely but the idea for me is to be ...

Of course! I like that!prebentious wrote:Create a midi clip with every note chromatically, freeze and flatten the track, then slice to a single sampler.

Hey all,
I was wondering; when do you change this options in the compressor plugin? I usually leave it at the default position and just work with the threshold, ratio, attack and release, but i never touch this buttons. I also never change the ff1/ff2/fb settings....
