Re: How sensitive will the pads be on PUSH?
Akai's pads on their other units are designed to be exactly as they are -- there is a long lineage of hitting pads hard with 2 fingers for playing drums, from those of us who started on MPCs (2000XL for me). Their engineers are really experts in this field, it's been educating to learn from them and...

Live 9 looks great and Push is a no brainer!
if I save a vst (or even an Live instrument like sampler) to a rack to which I have "configured" lets say 32 of its parameters and I reopen this rack via Push. Will it automatically populate 4 banks of 8 encoders each on Push, or will there be some tedious midi assignment involved as it i...

Hold Select and hit a pad to select without triggering (for drum racks)
Hold Select and press a clip to see its name without launching it.

Re: Push sequencer - velocity input?
We don't have per step automation of devices (also known as parameter lock) but yeah, it's on my wishlist too. I can't speak to what features will or won't make it in the future, but the wish is noted.

Re: Push sequencer - velocity input?
When you hold a step or steps, a menu comes up on the LCD screen where you can nudge forward or backwards in time, change the length or velocity of a step. Also, you can hold a step and press "Accent" to make that step full velocity. edit: and we have a few different shades of blue to repr...

Re: Push - is it Polyphonic Aftertouch , or channel?
Hi Angstrom, When controlling an instrument, Push has channel aftertouch (also known as mono-aftertouch). We have no way to record or represent polyphonic aftertouch (i.e. per note automation) in Live, so we wouldn't be able to play, record into a clip, then send on to a softsynth/external instrumen...

Re: Live 9 looks great and Push is a no brainer!
Push is primarily focused to work with Ableton devices, it's what we have the most control over and the most knowledge of. But I can't argue with you on this, we could do much better with VST integration in Live in general. Your list is a great summary of our deficiencies, and noted.

Re: Ableton 9's "Drums" Browser (and Push)?
Here's what I wrote in another post: "In general, the new browser offers some really cool ways to access your one shot samples and device presets. For example, if you have drums scattered across your computer, you just drag the folders to be "Places". Once this is done, if you browse ...

Re: Live 9 looks great and Push is a no brainer!
The workaround, for the moment, is to save a VST into an Ableton rack, with parameters laid out as you'd like. Push both sees these presets in it's browser, and automatically maps to the device controls. The wish for more automatic control of VSTs is noted though. I would have no problem with racki...

Re: Live 9 looks great and Push is a no brainer!
Hi Guys, Good questions. I can't make any promises or tell you exactly how it will work when released, as we are still refining details. In regards to external instruments, I currently use Push to control 12 hardware synthesizers, using the "External Instrument" device and various M4L devi...

Re: Push Design Layout
We thought a lot about this, and had many debates. You can't win completely either way -- when the encoders are under the screen, you can't see the screen when sitting down, because the encoder and your hand block the viewing angle to the display. We mocked up both and took the one we thought did be...

Re: PUSH Color coding
Hi Guys,
In session mode, the clip color is automatically matched to the color in Live (to the best of the RGB pads ability).
The colors are more intense when the power adaptor is connected -- but in all the movies on the site, we just used bus power.
Best,
Jesse
