Re: Copy-&-Paste Parameter Values
just modify one of them and copy the device to others.. You're saying let set one up how I like it and then copy it multiple times? This is what I do, but in order for this to be a good solution, you have to get all your settings perfect on the first pass before you duplicate the device. Frequently...

Setting a device's default width
tl;dr version: How do you set the default width of a device which has a function to expand/collapse its width? More detailed version: I've made a device which is essentially 64 macros split into 8 banks of 8. Because 64 macros makes for a very wide device, I've created buttons for each bank which e...

Re: live.dial: Context-sensitive units/ranges
Hm, not so simple then, eh? Alright, I'm learning about the LOM these days, but it's still pretty unfamiliar. Looking at it now, presumably the info I want the live.dial to update with is located in the "Device Parameter" area... The LOM webpage lists the "canonical path" (a.k.a....

live.dial: Context-sensitive units/ranges
I'm making an M4L device that's basically 64 freely assignable live.dial macros to expand Live's native 8 in racks. But how can I get a dial's units and range to change according to whatever it’s mapped to? For example, rather than having the dial always display 0 – 127 with no units regardless of i...

Re: Operator LFO out of sync b/c of pitch envelope
Bingo! That's exactly what it was, problem solved. Wow, I had somehow not even realized that the pitch envelope had selectable targets, though in retrospect that totally makes sense lol. Thanks!chrk wrote: And if you go to the Pitch Envelope page and turn of LFO in the Dest. A targets?

Re: Best 25 key MIDI Controller??
+1 for the Novation Impulse 25. The keys and drumpads feel great, the software is streamlined for integration specifically with Ableton, and the feature set is just incredible for the price point. A very affordable controller, really.

Re: Favourite iPad apps for making music
Thor* is prob my fav. It's so clean yet so versatile. And I love the keyboard too, very flexible and user-friendly. Ones I also like: iMini* iSem* Cassini iMS20 Magellan Sunriser* Z3TA+* (not for sausage-fingered though) *fully ported (meaning the iOS app can share patches with its desktop big broth...

Re: Operator LFO out of sync b/c of pitch envelope
Edit : Fooling around with this a bit more, I've noticed that what's happening is that the pitch envelope actually changes the LFO's rate, not just the pitch. That is, if the pitch envelope starts negative, the LFO rate is slightly slow, then speeds up until it hits the rate you set once the pitch ...

Operator LFO out of sync b/c of pitch envelope
In Operator, I've made a patch with the LFO synced to 1/8 and sent to the filter. I also want to put a short upward-moving pitch envelope on the front end, but when I set this up and engage the pitch envelope, the LFO becomes slightly out of time - not as in going increasingly out-of-sync over time,...

Re: Problem with release on pad sounds
Unfortunately, in Analog I can't find the same kind of Retrig function for polyphony as I did in Operator. The manual makes no mention of it. Where can I find it? It's in the envelope sections for the amp and filter separately. It's called legato. Legato is a little different though. Turning on Leg...

Re: Problem with release on pad sounds
Also, if you are retrifgering the same note, the note will interrupt the previous instant of that same note unless you change the retrigger option. Bingo, right on the money, this was the problem. Wasn't aware of this function in Operator, but turning off Retrig brought about the desired effect. By...

Problem with release on pad sounds
Pads have long releases by definition. So when transitioning between chords in a progression using pad sounds, there should be a period of time when the release of the previous notes overlaps with the attack of the following notes. This gives pads their nice atmospheric texture. So considering this,...

Re: Snap-to-grid function with automation envelopes
This is a good idea, especially for things where you have to automate MIDI between 1 and 127, which usually entails enormous amounts of scrolling up and down in the automation window.Idonotlikebroccoli wrote:Also, I would so much like to right-click a breakpoint and enter a value with the keyboard.

Re: Is MPC essentials a DAW?
Not sure what you mean by "the full selection of loaded samples". Each instance of MPC Essentials (used as a plugin) can hold multiple different patterns/sequences of notes using up to 128 different samples stored across 8 banks. But you can't switch out 128 NEW samples though each time yo...

MIDI Remote Script for MPC Element?
Anybody got one they'd like to share? I can't find any on Google or elsewhere.
I don't know how to write them, but I want to be able to use my MPC Element as a control surface to send out CC messages, control transport, scroll banks, etc. Thanks.
