Not for me. I appreciate you going into detail about this topic, particularly regarding the initial sections of the docs. I'll keep all of this in mind for the next revision.Angstrom wrote:So, I'm aware this is all tl;dr

Re: Mapping Chain Selector, increment & decrement
Take a look at the Troubleshooting section of the manual, which provides info on what to double-check as well as what to do if you need further assistance.

Re: Mapping Chain Selector, increment & decrement
Translator wouldn't help here. M4L could do it, but is overkill given that it's a bit of a resource hog and what you're looking to do isn't worth that tax. So MIDI Remote Scripts would be your best bet. If you don't want to write your own, you could use ClyphX to do it. The ClyphX actions you need a...

Re: Is Clyphx the Answer?
You're more than welcome. If you have the time at any point, please get in touch via email or PM to discuss more specifically what you find to be opaque in terms of the documentation and I'll do my best to rectify it. If that isn't something you have the time for, no worries.

Re: Is Clyphx the Answer?
It'd be much appreciated if you would voice these sorts of concerns on our forum (where you'll always receive rapid responses and fixes where applicable). Documentation ambiguity is not something I've heard many reports of. The documentation, in large part, doesn't use invented terms - it uses terms...

Re: Is Clyphx the Answer?
that you must type your command into the clip name. That isn't true and is a common misconception. X-Clips, which you're referring to here, are only one of several types of triggers you can use in ClyphX. Another type are X-Controls, which are triggered directly via MIDI controls. Pair those with C...

Re: Push 2 rotary encoders only sending on/off messages
I don't have Push 2 handy to check, just Push, but I believe the same is true of both of them. The Push controllers use touch-sensitive endless encoders with acceleration, which are quite different from the standard rotaries found on the other controllers you mention. The encoders on the Push contro...

Thanks for putting the word out! Just wanted to add that the first series of videos is up now here . The series is essentially an overview of the Arsenal product line. Also, introductory pricing is in effect, so you can purchase products from the Arsenal product line at a discounted rate of 25% off....

Re: Korg Nanokey Studio - script?
User Remote Scripts do not go in the same directory as MIDI Remote Scripts. They go in the User Remote Scripts directory within your user directory.
This article explains it pretty well.

Re: L9.6.1 released, but mapping devices to controls still buggy
Yes, it’s easily reproducible and not specific to Live, Windows or your particular system. It’s simply how input from the keyboard works. It’s focus-based (dependent on which window is active and which part of the window has the focus) and, in some cases, such as this one, selection-based (based on ...

Re: Change the parameter mapping of Lives own devices in Push!
The most significant change in 9.6 is dynamic parameter banks, which hides parameters that aren't relevant. To see an example of how that works, enter Device Mode and load Analog on a track. With your mouse, turn Osc 1 off and on. You'll notice that, when Osc 1 is off, its related parameters won't b...

Re: Change the parameter mapping of Lives own devices in Push!
The customized Devices.py file still works fine in 9.6 (tested with the Device Mode in PXT-Live), but not with Push as Push no longer uses the definitions found in Devices.py. I’m sure there’s a way around that, but it wouldn’t be as straightforward as it was in earlier versions of Live.

Re: Novation Launch Control XL users - your help please?
I don't have that model here, but its little brother has similar (undocumented) functionality. AFAIK, there's no way to turn it off. You just need to avoid sending the problematic MIDI message to the controller. In Live, in the context of the way you're using the controller, the easiest way to do th...

Re: un-solo several tracks at once
On Push 1, when the Shift button is held down, the Solo buttons will do the opposite of your preference setting for exclusive solo. So, if that setting is turned off (meaning multiple tracks can be soloed), hold down Shift and press one of the Solo buttons that's turned on to unsolo all the tracks i...

Re: auto update to 9.6 broke my setup - F*****CK - #URGENT
^ The situation is the same on both OSs anyway. That’s one of the benefits of using autoupdate; any custom scripts you’ve installed stay in place. Anyway, the major (related) change in 9.6 was that Ableton updated to Python 2.7. FWIW, this is mentioned in the release notes. For the most part, the ch...
