Re: MIDI latency (again i guess)

The latency would probably also change if you disable monitoring for some tracks.
Make a post in the troubleshooting forum, my guess it is a long standing bug with midi that ableton considers a feature.

I can confirm that this is fixed in the 803b2 beta.

Re: Studio Monitor Noise.

I know it cut out HUGE mounts of noise in my studio Well, from a technical viewpoint that would be highly unlikely. Balanced cables reduce hum and radio interference, generally speaking it does nothing for noise. Also, it only is worthwhile if both ends are balanced (speakers and soundcard\mixer ou...

Re: Trouble with timing of recorded instruments - HELP!!

For midi it is in the manual, p506: Do not enable track monitoring if you are recording MIDI while listening directly to a hardware device such as an external synthesizer (as opposed to listening to the device’s audio through Live via the External Instrument device). Likewise, disable track monitori...

Re: Live 8.02 disk overload in beats mode with transients

Hi,

Files are sent.
Noticed that it only happens when the clip pitch is transposed, but not with all pitches.
+12 semitones blinks the indicator, but for example +15 semitones does not.

Re: Live users and Maschine - an observation

If live would only implement some kind of Roland tr* step sequencer recording coupled to drumracks, we would not need a Maschine. If you could use the 16 drum-pads on a controller to represent a 1 measure bar and use the pads to toggle the notes on and off while running, it would satisfy most users ...

Live 8.02 disk overload in beats mode with transients

Live 8.02 still gives a disk overload in session view when using a clip warped in beats mode, transients preserved and loop mode off (loop for the transient that is). As far as I can tell every other loop mode does not light up the overload indicator.

Re: Midi cc Envelope with External gear

have not tried that myself, but are you sure that the external device is capable of understanding those controllers? Try if it responds to pitchbend, if that works you are probably using controllers that your synth does not know of.

Re: Hard disk overload blinking? Live 8

I can also reproduce this in session view.
Setting warp mode to tones does stop the overloading.

Re: Can Live 8 Send Realtime System Messages?

Hi,

Live sends realtime messages as long as you define it in your preferences.
Just enable clock out for the midi output that you use to send midi to the other sequencer.
When you start or stop ableton it sends out a start or stop message over the midi ports that have lcock out enabled.

Re: Who thinks Ableton Released Live 8 too soon?

The beta for 8 was more stable than the first official version 7 releases.
It seems they learned from that and Ableton did a really good job with version 8.

Re: 8 is so much warmer sounding than 7!! AWESOME!!

I think there wasn't any improvements at all for the audio engine!

What about the new warping algorithms then?
Call me nuts, but to me it sounds different too.
