other than the bm5a, what other options are there for around a grand, if you don't want to make the jump to the genelec 8030 (which i think may sound toooo good anyway)?

What about Adam A7? Any last things he/we should know about? They are killer sounding for the price. But... The quality is a joke for the price. Call this anecdotal if you want, but... I ordered a pair in '07. Didn't work out of the box. No sound out of one, volume didn't work on the other. Sweetwa...

I've used the Studio Projects C1 for most everything in the past 5 years. Compares well with teh Neumann U87, at about 1/10th of the price. +1 Studio Projects C1 is an awesome mic.
