Once you got it did you have to send further proof to Ableton?

Either way I emailed them a photo of my student and state ID. Hope that is sufficient.

If I buy the academic version of Live 8 from another site, will Ableton require further proof that I am a student? If so, what will they need and in which format? I just want to get everything ready ahead of time and be sure there will be no issues.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure all you have to do is drag one of the new warp markers to where you want a track to start, then right click on it and select Set 1.1.1 Here.

You know what, maybe it is placebo effect but from the first track I imported to Live 8 it immediately sounded warmer to me too.

Yes I am running the latest versions of everything.

I would go with either the Ecler EVO 5 (full MIDI mapping and an excellent mixer, Ecler makes quality products) or the Allen & Heath Xone: 4D.

Having a problem with two VSTi specifically. Predator and Alchemy. When I open them I only see a tiny window that can not be expanded. The only thing on the window is the red X to close it. EDIT: The Edirol M-16DX looks nice and they have released an update to use it as a control surface. Has anyone used this with Ableton?

Which Mackie board were you referring to that can switch banks? How exactly does that work? That sounds like a great solution, I was just afraid because most of the control surfaces I've seen only have a few faders and some of my songs have up to 30 channels, but generally under 20.
