Re: M4L: using sysex to control the Live API
Now we know that M4L doesn't deal with sysex 8O  Whats is ableton's problem with sysex????? I havnt tried this aspect of M4L, but if true - it does kind of kill alot of the potential uses for it in making hardware control plugins. I think it has to do with the implementation of M4L's routing ...

Re: M4L: using sysex to control the Live API
You can use udpsend and udpreceive and a max patch to get sysex into m4l. If you are on windows you can use midi-ox to analyse midi messages. Hope this helpes. Thanks. A send/receive object seems to work as well. Pretty simple, really. I am just wrapping my head around how M4L actually exists in Li...

M4L: using sysex to control the Live API
OK, so I need to use sysex because that's what my Padkontrol sends and receives. Now we know that M4L doesn't deal with sysex, but I have the full version of Max and I have been using an adapted version of the CovOps PKsquared patch to my great satisfaction. Now with M4L I want to get at LiveAPI goo...

And also, Emissary, you must be aware that you are making the classic Malthusian argument, that Malthus himself was wrong, and that every time in history since then someone has made that argument, they have been wrong. What makes you so fervently sure? Just because his prediction has not been reali...

Re: [OT] Man-made global warming : myth or fact?
The trouble with debates like this (and the evolution "debate") is that 99% of people aren't qualified to have an opinion, but don't let that get in their way Thats fine and you're totally correct (including me also). :D All i was trying to prove/debate/suggest is that all life on earth i...

Ok, i'll stop being nasty if you do :D All forms of Energy no matter where/how sourced from originated from the sun. All energy comes from the sun. My argument is, when we eventually run out of oil, surely there must be another source of energy on this planet that can sustain us, Look up Pebble bed...

Re: Rewards for people that help out on the forum
Honestly, most of the more helpful people on the forum are "probably" already getting something from Ableton in one way or another. They know who their helpful users are and take care of them, as do most manufacturers. It's amazing how much free gear comes your way when you act profession...

Re: Rewards for people that help out on the forum
Maybe just remove the prize from the equation (I don't see that ever happening anyway, TBH) - but to be able to give certain users status points for helping, there's nothing wrong with that - that in itself is rewarding, as people would be more likely, to, say, check out the paid tutorial links in ...

Re: Rewards for people that help out on the forum
Sorry, stupid idea :| . See, you would fall under the category of "people who know they wouldn't win" so there's no need for you to "act like a polite adult". Anyway, no one's asking you to change yourself, this seems to be more about incentive for people who help to keep coming...
