Re: Ability to warp audio in Simpler / Sampler
yeah... I mean, the general concept and function is the important thing. I would think that the people at Ableton could probably come up with a better way to implement than the user base, and it would be a good function to have

Re: Please be in Ableton 9 (wishlist)
1) re-scan for devices in ableton -the best part of ableton is the workflow and what ruins the workflow is having to completely restart ableton when i have to switch from my keyboard mini controller, to my drumpad controller, to my mbox to record a guitar. re-scanning for devices while ableton is s...

Re: Automatic Sound card Switching
I'm genuinely curious why you would need this feature? In general, I would never remove the audio interface that I'm using while I'm running a program like Ableton... but even then, if I were to do so, it doesn't take long (10 seconds) to go into preferences and toggle it to the internal sound card....

Re: Does Ableton Even Care What People Want?
ableton are obviously missing the basics. channel groups in version 8 of a sequencer? no internal midi channel routing? templates? the list is long. these are sort of things every newcomer sequencer can do.. While there's a lot of things that Ableton could improve to have it stand side to side with...

Re: Does Ableton Even Care What People Want?
I think it's fairly obvious that they care what people want, but I think you're somewhat overestimating the demand for this feature in Ableton.

video loop triggering in clip launch
I've been wanting to use Ableton to trigger video clips for visuals, and it would be pretty amazing if I could do this via the clip view. Ideally, it would be great if I could actually embed video data into an audio or midi clip. I've been told there's ways to do this while using video software and ...

Re: Live 9 is super meh.
It's not the drastic update w/ all the fixes I was looking for, but Ableton 9 has some new additions that I like... especially the new Gating functions, and the visualizers in the gate, improved compressor, and EQ. I'm also interested in the drum synth. Still, yeah, automation curves could be improv...

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
This may be a ridiculous question, but is there a way to map the volume faders to different CC functions (without Max for Live)? And by doing so, have them no longer control the volume faders, so I can use a separate controller with automated sliders for that?

Out of curiosity, is there a link to the original track so I can hear what you changed?
I like the wobbly bass part.

Re: help with mastering
are you using the W1 for playing out live? for me, mastering stuff is a whole different thing than playing out live. i usually do that with logic and a couple of tc powercore plugins and whatnot I've played shows with it and without it, I used to use it mainly just to keep the master channel from c...

Re: help with mastering
i'd use abletons internal plugins for the purpose of playing out live (and well, for stability reasons). I'd agree, except I've never been happy with Ableton's dynamic plugins. I've reverted to running 7, and I have no issues with running the W1 maximizer/limiter clone, and nothing in Ableton's are...

Re: Why is ableton so freaking quite?!
the simple answer to this is that commercially released music is mastered.
Also, knowing how to produce a track goes a long way... You might get more mileage out of some 3rd party compressors.

Re: The No1 Wish for Ableton Live
I could see why some people would want Ableton to move more towards becoming a standard DAW, but my number 1 request is to make a rock solid program that I can rely upon in a live context. They've seemed to move away from that as the program has grown more complex and fully featured. I don't use Abl...

Re: help with mastering
there's a lot of options, and it depends on how you're structuring your live sets. Are you going to be playing back mixed files, or are you going to be reconstructing them from individual parts? If you're working with completed mixes, nothing will really replace a professional mastering job. If you'...

Re: Live Suite 8.2.1 Unusable - Crash Crash Crash
while it may not be an issue that users can help to resolve, I don't think it hurts to mention that the program is still very unstable. I'm still working with 7 after having problems with version 8.
