There's another, simpler, MIDI translation program called "Bome's midi translator". I think it'll do what you need faster than "The OX".

I can't name a product for Windows but there must be one. I've restored hundreds of badly abused vinyl records by using a program called gwc (Gnome Wave Cleaner) on Linux. Most of the time I can just select the whole song and gwc will do a decent job of finding and removing pops, but other times I h...

I tried ASIO4all with my onboard laptop sound. Got the latency down to almost useable but it still was unlistenably bad sounding.

"Typically"? What's a typical DJ mixer? Radio Shack or Rane?

Here's an interesting audiophile website focused on phono products.
They recommend DJ Mixers as inexpensive phono preamps.
I have recorded thousands of records through a DJ mixer and it works quite well.

No think about it, this would actually work for a small subset of all available music. If two people buy the same track from beatport for example, they should be able to share asd files. It's a really good idea that will provide a lot of value as more music becomes available online. In fact, making ...

I've been using Traktor very successfully for about a year and it works. You can send midi clock from Traktor to Live, and Live will sync to Traktor. I don't think Traktor will sync to an external clock at all. The trick to getting Traktor to send midi clock is that you have to open the "master...

external sync rounding

What's up with the tempo readout when syncing to external MIDI clock, eh? It always reads XXX.00, I mean the decimal part is always "00". I ran my drum machine from one bpm to the next, slowly, and Live just jumped from 126.00 to 127.00 instead of displaying the intermediary steps. Is this...

Maybe not a full midi cable: if both computers have the m-audio Uno midi interface you might only need a female-female midi adapter cuz the Uno has its own integrated cables. They're fabulously long too!
Sorry I don't work for m-audio, just a bit of midi-geek irony.
