Take a deep breath. Good. Now check here for latest software: http://www.novationmusic.com/support/software/remote_sl/ This includes the editor and the SL unit's software. I can't tell by your post if you are trying to make the live automap template into a new template for operator, but if you are, ...

I'd say if you do get more into reaktor, you owe it to yourself to upgrade to reaktor 5. It's far more stable, snappier, and ensembles use a bit less cpu even. I'm no synth builder, but it's much more pleasurable using version 5 in general.

i have the inspire. works great. If i need a seperate audio cue output, i create an aggregate device in mac OSX which basically creates a virtual sound card that includes the built in sound and the inspire. so, you play out of the inspire, but set up a cue mix using the built in headphone jack. Whe...

I remember when I used to use Reason 1.o when it came out and I didn't know what shuffle did on the redrum so I just didn't use it. Man, I can't imagine doing just straight beats now. I'd be lost without swing to be honest. And when I say swing I usually mean triplet quantization because as Neb ment...

Now that we have a 2-band version also, a 3-band one would also come in handy. I'm using the Image Line Maximus Processor a lot which has 3 bands and this always seems enough 99% of the time. I think using the 2 and 4 band versions, it's quite easy to make a 3 band version. Just grab the low chain ...

I follow the idea, but the racks have me a bit puzzled. If I just want to use it as a 2 band divider, must I keep all the components and just lower/raise the cutoff of the low-mids or mi-highs respectively, or can I put my effects at the end of the two chains (rather than at the end of the sub-chain...

Works great here. I'm lost without legato on phat synths such as this.

OSX - Aggregate audio devices?/use laptop headphone for cue?

Let's say I'm using an audio interface with only a stereo output. So I have nothing to assign ableton's cue monitor to that's separate from the mains. I know there's some way to aggregate audio devices, though I've never tried. If one was to do such a thing with a mbp's built-in soundcard and a fire...

i hate to say it, but from everything you described, it sounds like a ff400 would meet all your needs, save price. however, i've always seen it as a mid priced interface... Far too expensive for a secondary interface though. Isn't that like 1200 or 1300 dollars? Seriously, the inspire would be enou...

I say stick with it too. Yes, it seems complicated, but once you have the different parts/functions worked out, you realize that you only need some of it for quick fun instrument making. My favorite is just to load one sample and use it as an instrument. It's far better than sampler for this because...

My mbp is from before the firewire chipset changed, so that's not a concern, and now that they've gone back to the good one, hopefully it never will be concern in the future for me. Thanks for the info, I figured it would have a software control, but I really feel alot better having a physical hardw...
