Re: Mono Sequencer, automated transposing & being a step behind

it's basically something about quantum space time, and the linearity of time in normal computer systems. :)

Re: Mono Sequencer, automated transposing & being a step behind

It's pretty simple; you just need to set the note just before the bar, instead of *on* the bar.

Re: Faster(more frequently) = Louder . . . ?

Here's one working implementation, with some smoothing thrown in for good measure. It can be tweaked in a number of ways, depending on what you need. One thing that would be fun is to add an [accum] object to this, so that it can, well, accumulate even more. <pre><code> ----------begin_max5_patcher-...

Re: Create a bang when signal reaches a threshold ?

yeah, but that effectively removes your hysteresis and replaces it with "no more than 10 a second", to some extent, hehe. YMMV, of course, and if it works in the application, then that's all that matters :) Have a good patching wednesday, chapelier fou! :) I really ought to do more work to...

Re: Fire multiple clips at once using LiveAPI

workaround would be to not stop the transport, but stop the clips instead.

then when you need to trigger the clips you trigger them sequentially, then set the transport to the beginning and you'll have the sync.

Re: Live 9 Open Sound Control Implementation?

MIDI communication is arcane when compared with OSC, both through its limited word lengths and through the inherent latency built into the MIDI hardware chain. I suppose MIDI enabled over a higher bandwidth protocol mitigates this problem, but how many end-users are generally set up for this? Well,...

Re: Create a bang when signal reaches a threshold ?

you're looking for "hysteresis", a common audio gate concept. average~ -> thresh~ -> edge~ normally works just fine, to be honest. Your problem in that patch is that you're setting both thresh~  thresholds to be the same value... don't do that ;) You'll find that if you play with the diffe...

Re: Live 9 Open Sound Control Implementation?

I used to think so too. That I somehow needed direct OSC support from Live. It turns out I only needed api access, like we have now. The OSC is being handled by m4l devices, so we're translating between the api and OSC, just like a native OSC layer would be doing. So now I'm not disappointed that I ...

hey ned, been meaning to ask you, but are these patches openable? I'd love to open them up and hack them (for personal use only, of course).

Re: Max effect like EHX Freeze sound retainer pedal?

The thing to look for is something that sounds relatively smooth, rather than just repeating a small buffer. Typically that involves some interpolation/crossfading. Anyway, there several ways of going about it. 1) FFT freezing. http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device/904/zb-jfc-freeze8 2) VDB is an...
