Yeah I can't say that is all that great. and I agree sorta disturbing. Maybe I'll just hire some dancers for my next show. (already do the projection thing) other than head nodding I'm rather boring to watch but the music is great. in the above clip the music sucked. electro polka? If I wanted to se...

I had Delta 2. With it you couldn't use ext sync. (very important to me.)

I think there was an offer to upgrade from delta to a full version.

great way for ableton to steal me from acid.

this is a topic that is extremely grey IMO. I'm not sure where I stand on it. I can totally understand needing permission to use a sample from a song. You didn't play that sample, it is someone elses work but it is still music and you are making music which could get confusing. "So who made that pha...

Re: Newbie question re: tempo and sampling

You are coming at this from the wrong direction. if your wav file (recorded from the cd) is truely 4 bars then you just drop it into Live and hit play it will sound fine with whatever loops you are already playing. Live adjusts the BPM of the loop (clip) to fit the tempo that live is set to. (120 BP...

I currentlly use Live mixed externally (10 channels in live running to a mixer w/ 6 mono channels and 4 stereo channels) I am still debating what the best way to set stuff up is but currentlly I group songs above each other and try to keep things with the same effects in the same track.

I can't say for sure cause I don't know your exact situation. I upgraded from 2 to 4. I like what I saw with the improvements from 2 to 3 but IMO 4's follow actions, MIDI capabilities and VST instrument capibilities made the upagrade to 4 a necessity. I haven't looked back.

I plan on making it freely available (under the GNU PL).

Probably appear for public consumption in aboot a month or so.

Cheers.

Re: MIDI tempo sync across 2 computers?

one needs to have midi out one needs to have midi in you'll need a midi cable So just connect midi out to midi in on the other machine? Hrms, I'll give that a shot. Thanks for the advice. =) It's not quite that easy. but it is close. do the above then configure the 2 versions of live to the right s...

I choose "Use only loops that you create" but that isn't totally true. I generally use all original loops of stuff that I've made using my hardware (or VST's now that I have L4). But I have no problem using 1 or 2 samples that are prominent in a track. Like that guitar part from that song. and using...

If you are using the internal sequencers in the MD and the nord (it has an internal sequencer right?) then I'd suggest that you use one of the hardware devices as the master.

I'd say go with the EMU 1616m http://www.emu.com/images/new/1616M.pdf 2 in 6 out with +8 in and out with a AD/DA converter. that's what I'd do. but I'm partial to Emu. 3 stereo outs from the 1616m to 3 of the stereo channels on the yamaha then 8 mono outs from the AD/DA conveter to the 8 mono channe...

I'm pretty sure that the soundblaster has 3 ins (line, mic, and aux) and one out. the out is a 1/8" stereo headphone jack. I think that you can set it up so that your single stereo out is actually a pair of mono outs. You're gonna have to frankenstein together cables to get this to work. What are yo...
