I don't have the manual in front of me but I seem to remember their being a section in there about having 2 computers with live from one CD but you can't use them at the same time. So yes Ultima I think you can.

both laptops should have external soundcards (for sound quality purposes) plug the midi out form one to the midi in from another. you'll need to open the preferences and set the MIDI out and sync options to the sound card for each laptop. Then turn on external sync on the laptop with the midi in (sl...

This probablly will not help in the least but i've run 2 hour sets with both a mac and a pc (osx and xp respectivally) synched to an external hardware sequencer. Years ago I used a computer as master and was unhappy with the results. I will always use a hardware sequencer as my master or at least un...

If it is any thing like the 8x8/s you have to install the midisport mulitipule times. read the install instructions.

I can't get mine to install either but my problem is that it says that there is an error during instalation and it doesn't install.

anyway, external sync is not working perfectly yet. Live experiences some tempo drifts. i have strong hopes this will be fixed soon. the only thing I've noticed with ext sync is that when I hit play on my external sequencer, live takes a fraction of a second to catch up. I just don't start my live ...

if this is rack mountable (or small enough to fit on a rack shelf) I'd definitally get one. or at least I''ll add it to the list. If I wasn't planning on getting a bigger mixer, monitors, a digital to analog converter and a controller for live I might get one right away.

You can do this already.

in my VST folder I have 2 folders effects and instruments. In prefrences set the VST location to the VST folder the sub folders will appear inside and you can browse them just like you would any other folder.

I have a similar problem. I'm using 4 and the other guy is using 3. you should be able to have mulitipul versions of live on your computer with out problem (tho I am not that familiar with macs) I still have delta, 2 and an update of 2 on my computer. I use 4 to work in and if I have to give my frie...

what do you think of the ADA8000? I'm thinking of getting one of these to interface with my EMU 1820. I just need a bigger mixer first.

do you mean use the prelisten? I'm not sure if it is different with Live 3 than it is with 4 (this is how you would do it in 4) in the main outs section you can pull down cue and master, assign master to one output and cue to another. You might want to check in the options menu to see if you have mu...

Well if you are familiar with PCs perhaps you should go with a PC.

it used to be that PCs were for computer games and Macs were stable audio/visual machines. that isn't totally the case anymore. some people still swear that Macs are better but I think it is just a question of prefrence now.

Live and Emulator X

Anyone used live with Emu's Emulator X as a VST? I'm thinking of getting that program and was just wondering if there are any issues with the two.
