Warp turned off, Hi-Q turned on - necessary?

I was wondering if there is any point to having "Hi-Q" turned on when warp mode is turned off?

Isn't playback when warp mode is turned off a matter of just playing back a sample in its raw, original state? Does Hi-Q even have any effect when this is the case?

Some suggestions from a (former?) Logic user

Been working with Live 8.1 as a DAW these last few weeks, and while it's certainly improved since the last time I tried a demo (6? 7?), there is def. room for improvement in terms of arranging a track in, eh, Arrangement view. These are some of the things I really miss from Logic: * being able to nu...

Re: Access to warp markers?

Oh well. :)

Perhaps I can use the elasticindex~ object I bought recently for MaxMSP. It's got flexible markers, though not sure how I would incorporate it into Live. I'll find out!

Access to warp markers?

I'm guessing the answer to this is a big NO, but I'll ask anyways:

Is it possible to access the warp markers through M4L? For example to move them around? etc.?

Re: How to make the Arrangement active?

Using "ctrl + F10" seems to have no effect on my MacBook Pro running Live 8.1.

"ctrl + F11" works fine (fullscreen), but the above combo doesn't work.

Why are selected controller data reset after being moved?

I have selected a few bars of controller data (volume fade) in the Arrangement window. However, after being moved a few notches upwards, the selection disappears! What if I wasn't happy with the first movement? Do I have to re-select the same part of the clip automation every time I just want to mov...

How to make the Arrangement active?

In the Live manual it says "F10" will go "Back to Arrangement". This key is in conflict with Exposé, so is it the right one? I've deactivated Exposé, yet nothing happens. Is there a command that will make the main screen in Arrangement active again, for example after editing devi...

Possible to "nudge" clips in Arrangement?

Is there a way to just nudge clips right or left within the Arrangement view, for example by using a key command?

It seems loop markers can be nudged, according to the manual, but not clips? Or am I missing something?

Go To Position-command?

Is there a "Go To Position" command in Live 8.1?

For example to go to position "1 minute 23 seconds", or to "measure 40"?

I can't find anything about this in the manual.

Re: No "Solo" or "mute" using keyboard?

Hi Digid, the F1-F8 keys are muting/unmuting tracks. You can assign keys to almost any parameter in Live (including the Solo buttons) with Live´s Keymapping function. Best, Jörg But if I want to mute track 9 or 12 or 14, the F-keys won't work? I never work with just eight tracks. I tried the keymap...

No "Solo" or "mute" using keyboard?

I am trying to see if I can export my workflow from Logic Express 9 to Ableton Live 8.1, first and foremost because I am a MaxMSP user being pretty tempted by the possibilities of joining Live and the latter. However, one of biggest obstacles seem to be treating Live as a DAW of sorts. I am not maki...
