I use one w/ a MacBook, and use it w/ midi w/ no problems.

Do you have your midi channel sending midi to the NiO (I tend to do it this quick/easy way instead of using External instrument).

I have been having this problem a lot as well.

Sometimes if I restart Ableton it stops, sometimes it doesn't. Having a hard time determining the source of the problem.

I suppose that the velocity 'template' was added as a bonus. That way you can get more human feel even when you program the patterns in step sequencer style with fixed velocities. Then why make it an SP1200 template? It doesn't make sense... In reality, who cares :) Thanks for the info everyone.
