Re: Can your APC40 do this?

Pretty cool! Curious: Your drumming is right on. Do you have the latency set quite low or is it somehow quantizing the hits? You can tell it's heavily quantized. Once it starts looping, it becomes much more rigid than was played. Yeah. My hands aren't quantized but the playback is. Thanks fo...

Re: stand for apc, so the crowd can see?

dont underestimate the power of monumulation and follow actions on the a.p.cizzle. if im going to go through the trouble of htriggering clips on 16th note quantization, the crowd may as well see what i'm doing. Unless a light show is dmx controlled and in sync, i dont think that is something to com...

Whats the best way to mount this thing , slightly pointed down and towards the crowd, so they can see this monomulation and and button press-ation in action jackson? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ym-CeUw9cHk just one example of many. I mean the dudes stuff is okay (not for me but it's pretty good for what it is) but I'm so tired of hearing people beat repeat stuff up every 8 bars. sorry, just ranting.. I went back and listened to your songs so I could come daw...

Re: Rant: too much freakin beat repeat in the world!

A lot of it is slice to midi reconstructions and not beat repeat. No monomulator, just creative mapping and NativeKontrol.

Ever heard of Aphex Twin, Squarepusher or Prefuse 73? They started my infatuation of the "beat repeat" or "loop roll" and "glitch" sound.

but even if it was a 4 bar loop it would ease up on the ears alot

also, try using follow actions to build the drums up so you dont have to touch them

keep banging.

Word. I'm a follow action junkie. Check out some of my other vids.

Thank for watching guys! :P

Re: APC40 Michael Jackson Remix Video

your mashup/live skills are intense, these mix very very well but your drum programming could use some work, that high hat every bar for 10 minutes was annoying me :| went back, listened again, yea maybe hihat could use some change ups, but I didnt notice until i was listening for it. That's a good...

+1

Dummy clips and mapping. Kind of a sloppy deal but It's just a nice little visual metronome.

"1) First thing is the volume faders. I often times see DJ's running their faders at full volume, with no clipping. How do you do that?" Limiter (audio effect) in each channel. Details in the manual. "2) Secondly, As he's triggering loops on different tracks, his effects controls (Bo...

Re: How does "He/She" Do it? (A few questions from a beginner)

Thanks for all the great advice! I have #2 and #3 all hammered out, and I'm pretty sure I can figure out #1. You can remap your faders back to the tracks that they go to. Then in your Midi window (the one that pops up in place of your folders when midi is press) you can edit the faders to not be fu...
