I have to admit that I didn't do anything with callbacks, I jused python just for the quick test (set tempo, trigger clip). Then I switched to C++, as the rest of my project was written there and I feel a bit more like "home" there. If you like to do the stuff in C++, be sure to check out ...

I did it... how? I wrote a small AU plugin that sends parameter changes out via OSC (rather than MIDI as the thread title says). Then I modulated the parameter in the clip (ramp from 0 to 1). If anyone is interested in the plugin, let me know. It is somehow limited (only 3 instances at the same time...

Thank you Robert for the reply, I was like "wtf?" when I read that reverb should make the needle skip. Not only that I never heard anything about it (what doesn't make it impossible), it also didn't match with my imagination of the whole physical process on a record.

Id try the max version if you can. its been in dev a bit longer than the pd version. lots of features implemented. There has just been a hack that will let the OSC version runn on OS X but its kind of tricky. Thanks for the tip, I solved this problem in the meantime. My version was broken... I down...

Bad news: You can't do it (at least not a completely extracted vocal) with an effect, vst or similar.

Good news: Somtimes you can. You can sum up the Full Mix and the instrumental (inverted), then you get the vocals only.

I am not using a reverb in the master channel. Why? Because the amount of reverb correlates to the position of the instrument in the "virtual room". If you add reverb to the master channel, all instruments seem to be equally "far away". However there are no general rules. if it s...

Now if the sum total, which I imagine it won't be, is a vocoder (1940's tech) and some fantastic C74 gray boxes with smaller gray boxes in them that 3 fanboi's can OSC over then great - meanwhile the wider userbase will still be requesting the above list... Maybe the collaboration means that you wi...

?!? (why do you have to bash him?) Guess it will come in the end of 2008. They released a version every year and I think they will keep that tradition (2008->v8 is cool). WHY? BECAUSE 7 IS A BLOATED, GLITCHY SQUIRREL. FORK 8 Perhaps v8 will go a completely different way? The C74 collaboration thing...

Clip Playback Position -> MIDI

Does anybody know how to send the position in a clip to a midi controller? 0 would be the beginning of the clip and 127 the end....

I know about the LiveAPI and ApiMIDI, but even there found no way to do it.

Any ideas? Impossible....?

I do it the following way:

Render bar 1 to 264 (example) -> 1.wav
Render bar 264 to 543 -> 2.wav
...

In the CD burning program I select "disc at once" and "pause 0 sec between tracks"

Et voila: Seamless, but the tracks skip exactly.
