Re: Live 8 CPU consumption
I'd bounce the tracks with effects to new tracks. Try using 16 bit audio instead of 24 or 32. When you're not using plugin instruments (softsynths, etc..), put the buffer to like 1024 or higher. Are you using the ASIO driver for your hardware? Is there a maximum performance mode in your version of W...

On each midi track, where it says "Midi From" select the specific midi in, instead of the default "All Ins".

Re: Studio Monitors necessary?
If you don't have decent monitors, you won't be able to properly mix. I've had the same monitors, Event PS8s since 2000. A $700 investment back then and I'm still using them.

Re: Axiom 61 or Oxygen 61 + Mpd 26?
I tried a bunch of midi keyboard controllers and thought the Axioms had the best feeling keyboard. I also considered the Oxygen, but found the keyboard to feel really cheap and light. I didn't like it. As far as drum pads, I don't use the Axiom's, though I hear the Axiom v2 pads are better than v1. ...

Re: DRUMRACK different sets of samples
What about putting a different drum rack on it's own track, have multiple tracks with drums rack. Then select the track you want to use with a midi map. Or one drum rack track and do hot swapping, though you would have to use the mouse most likely.

Because I always though Metal, Industrial and drums were really cool. Plus I always used to tap out beats on like the kitchen table..

Re: Latency in Version 8.2.1
In the preferences, set your audio buffer to the smallest amount, so you don't hear artifacts in the audio. I think there is a tutorial in Live that tells you how to find the lowest setting.

Re: How is Ableton Live 8 with Windows7 ?
I've been using Windows 7 64 bit on a custom PC. The only crashes that I have encountered in Live, were when I changed the audio buffer for my Motu 828 mk3 audio interface. I have to change the audio buffer in the Motu utility. Once it was changed and I don't mess with it, Live has been rock solid s...

Re: You have gas!
I always buy on credit having a year with no interest to pay it back. I won't buy anything new until my balance is zero. I like having less gear and learning Live better. I finally am content with my two midi controllers, the Axiom 25 and pad kontrol after trying a bunch of others.

Re: DrumKAT into Ableton Live via Digi002?
Usually midi cables don't need a left or a right cable. Maybe they labeled them left and right instead of 1 and 2. It should be one of the midi outs to one of your midi ins. Pretty simple.
