im on mac and i'd prefer osx over windows any day of the week but your not gonna see kaby lake till late in the year on macbook pro ..if you need power now stick with the pc you will def get more bang for buck it just wont be pretty or run osx

it depends on what your after both waves and ikm try to model existing hardware processors .. what your asking is who sounds closer to the original? well neither sound exactly the same i think different models sound better than each other for eg ikm 670 sounds much better than waves puigchild . but ...

cubase does this automatically and flawlessly .. and yes the computer certainly knows the roundtrip latency its a simple calculation . your mixer doesnt display this behaviour because there is not audio conversion going on live doesn't do this well at all and it's very hit and miss i also use preson...

where you select your midi ports there is a delay option set your input latency there and it should record in sync ... however!!! and this is a massive issue for me and it's been there forever, is the first recorded note will be out of time regardless of setting. so allow a 1 bar buffer at the start...

tc electronics konnekt 48 has been going strong since 08 for me with out skipping a beat

i also have a korg zero 4 which admittedly doesn't get used as much as the TC but has never given me grief except for a weak as piss headphone amp

thx for your input, working out delay times and what not is a pain but doable ..and every other software can get it right automatically with absolute minimal fuss .. the fact that it changes each time is baffling me midi and audio playback and recording are just all over the place get one right the ...

ok further investigation .. this is doing my head in it will change with the delay in preferences and i can sync to click track...but it now changes everytime i start a new project .. i spend 10 minutes recording passes to get the offset right and in time with the click, i have to offset between 38 ...

live session view i have a tb 03 on an external instrument i open a clip on a channel with the tb loaded i press play the sequencer starts on the tb but it is out of time with the click track i adjust the delay on the ext ins no effect .. i adjust delay in midi preferences no effect .. i adjust trac...

just got a tb03 .. ableton's midi clock will not start the sequencer on the 1... i've measured it starts about 22ms out of whack. i've adjusted timing delay times on the external instrument on the actual midi port in preferences and the track itself no matter what i do it starts late.. midi clock wo...
