Transport lags almost 10 seconds
I am not sure how to figure out an issue I am having with Live 9.5. I have a track I'm working on the final arrangement for that multiple samples were recorded at 24/96 and split so they could be manipulated. In the previous Live version I had no playback issues. Now when I hit play it takes roughly 10 seconds for audio playback to actually occur and when I press stop it takes another 10 seconds to stop. CPU usage is 30%-60% and drops to 2% when nothing is playing. This is much higher than what I experienced in Live 9.2. I have tried removing multiple plugins in terms of effects and switching audio interfaces and tuning the latency, but the playback problem continues and it prevents me from overdubbing anything.
Anyone have any ideas?

I'd say this is very abnormal and I'd consider a reinstallation of Live and possibly all plug-ins. I've had to do that twice in the last 3 years. It's hard to to advice when you leave out which operating system you use, as well as the plug-ins active in this project, if any.witchbutter wrote:I am not sure how to figure out an issue I am having with Live 9.5. A normal first test would be to try on another system and/or take it back to 9.2 and see if that makes a difference.

Is your Live project also set to be 96kHz?

I've tried setting the project to 44.1, 48 and 96 with no change.

Re: Transport lags almost 10 seconds
What about plug-ins and their settings? I've recently ran 4 Native Instruments Synths in 88.2Khz and high-quality mode on my old Core2Duo with a 256 sample buffer. At 128 samples I had the occasional glitch. In 9.2 I couldn't even use a 128 sample buffer.witchbutter wrote:I've tried setting the project to 44.1, 48 and 96 with no change.
I've had up to 50 audio tracks with 30-40 plug-ins, all warped though near original tempo (my own recordings mostly) and no glitches, certainly no 10 second lags or even half second lags, on this same machine.
All projects are different, but 10 second lags are abnormal under any common scenarios. It's likely to be something specific. Ableton support can very likely make more educated suggestions than what we can provide. They have been very helpful when I've had serious issues in the past.

Re: Transport lags almost 10 seconds
I submitted it to Ableton support, hopefully they can help.
It currently uses an Operator, NI Kontakt 5, NI Replika, Ozone 7 and is only 7 tracks.
Console floods these errors during playback:
1/8/16 11:33:05.822 AM Live[918]: assertion failed: 15C50: libxpc.dylib + 35399 [61AB4610-9304-354C-9E9B-D57198AE9866]: 0x13
I have Bitwig on the same machine, I loaded it with the same plugins and samples and it has no errors.

Good start. Have you seen this: OS X Live assertion failed libxpc.dylib Flooding breach?witchbutter wrote:I submitted it to Ableton support, hopefully they can help.

Re: Transport lags almost 10 seconds
It's either caused by Izotope Ozone 7, RX5 or by iLok. I took some time to do a process of elimination.

Thanks for the update, let us know if you get it narrowed down to one culprit!
