Killing Joke

haven't listened to this in years and they've been playing on one of my pandora playlists at work.

oh my god....

Exorcism

Invocation

good stuff, it's so nice not only hearing new music, but also rediscovering old music.

Since there's a lot of DJs on here you'll probably get a lot of tracks that were released 2 weeks ago as rediscovering their past.

Hey smutek, hows the guitar playing going? I was thinking about that guitar playing thread when I 'rediscovered' this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioAQTwc8Oas earlier this week. Its a great song to practice your arpeggio's with, 4 simple chords D-G-Em-A with a simple picking pattern. Not sure if its up your alley.

Cheers :)

Kraut Rock in general. Been getting into it lately. Almost doesn't count though, since I was 5 or something when it was happening, but it influenced a lot of bands I like, and it's a style I get into.

Lately been trying to find albums by one hit wonders from my youth: Landscape, Killer Pussy, Blancmange etc. hoping that a few of their other tracks are good.

On the subject of Krautrock I just recently dug out BrainTicket - cottonwoodhill , I used to love that album. Even though it's mainly one song.

it's still good.

I did a "DJ" remix of "black sand" so I could play it out at parties without making people stab me.

man, honestly I have not even touched it since school started. I haven't even made music in over 2 months... 8O

I'm working 2 jobs and taking 2 classes, so most of what I do all the time is work work work, until next month when things slow down a little.

But next week my cousin is coming by, he plays guitar and we're going to spend some time jamming out, so that will be cool.

:)

believe it or not, this is the record that was probably most influential in my shift toward synths. 8O

Blancmange had at least several hits in the UK at least.

Singles (with chart position)

* "God's Kitchen / I've Seen The Word" (1982) UK #65
* "Feel Me" (1982) UK #46
* "Living On The Ceiling" (1982) UK #7
* "Waves" (1983) UK #19
* "Blind Vision" (1983) UK #10
* "That's Love That It Is" (1983) UK #33
* "Don't Tell Me" (1984) UK #8
* "The Day Before You Came" (1984) UK #22
* "What's Your Problem?" (1985) UK #40
* "Lose Your Love" (1985) UK #77
* "I Can See It" (1986) UK #71

[2]

[edit] Studio albums (with chart position)

* Happy Families (1982) - UK #30
* Mange Tout (1984) - UK #8
* Believe You Me (1985) - UK #54

Making the UK top 40 is like making the billboard 100 in the USA.

I recently rediscovered Ultravox, Visage, Human League, Soft Cell and then Echo and The Bunnymen, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Siouxsie and The Banshees and The Cure's early material, 17 seconds just blew me away and Disintegration will always be one of the classic albums.
