If you have caf files they will need to be converted to aif first.

I hate the fact that they HAD to change the file format.... i mean come on

Luckily i still have some older loops that are aif.....

Now we have to wait for the abes to support .caf

application called "Sound Converter"
http://www.dekorte.com/projects/sharewa ... Converter/

works wonderful, convert as many as needed at once... Any files above 500K (Approx. 20% of Garageband Apple Loops), you have to pay and register this Shareware (I think it's like $14 or so)... Anyting 500K or below, it's free...

They will probably add it in Live 8.

They brought .aac support in the past (I think, could be wrong as I'm not a mac user)

i got this from a guy on the Apple Logic Forum, but I can't find the command?
Anyone know about this command? Maybe I have to be in Logic ?????
You can do that easily in the audio bin. Load up the .caf files in the audio bin, highlight all of the ones you want to convert, and use the 'Copy/Convert Files' command. Select AIFF from the file format drop down menu in the box that appears, and you should be good to go.

Yep - it's Logic - Got this from Apple.

Yes, you need to be in Logic, on the right hand side of the Arrange you can open the Audio Bin via the "Media" tab or a keycommand. Then select all the files you want to convert and hit control+C - copy/convert menue opens - choose the destination format - hit ok.

If they don't add it to Live 8 I will be kicking Ableton arse big time. They should have added it in one of the patches, it isn't much work (QuickTime handles the de-coding) and the lack of it causes problems for a lot of people (all GarageBand / Logic loops are unusable without conversion).
