WD Studio
WD Studio
I am about to go to Best Buy and buy a hard drive since I feel my current one is about to give out on me and I don't want to loose it all. After browsing what they have online, I liked for the amount of space and features of the Western Digital Studio Edition. It has somewhat bad reviews but I know a lot of times its beginners who do not know how to use these kinds of things well.
Does anyone here have one? What do you think?
Or which one (from Best Buy since I want today) do you recommend?

Ok now I am looking at the Seagate Free Agent Xtreme and the "for Mac one". They are the same price.

not sure its a problem per say, just that the only beef i've ever had with a hard drive (WD mybook studio ed) is that it goes to sleep, then freezes upon waking, forcing you to reboot, only to find that kernal tree is corrupted and all your files innaccessible!
badly in need of replacement hd and I know its possible to get little apps on windows that allow you to prevent the drive from sleeping. maybe seagates are more reliable.

seagates are great and reliable, i just buy the disks and stick 'em into icy boxes, which are cheap, having no trouble with firewire and have a alloy, fan less sturdy design and are stackable if you have a bunch of them.
