i have a sony viao laptop for running ableton(when i get it) and i need a new soundcard.
what do you use with your laptops
any good recomendations or horror stories

MOTU 828 firewire....will be good i think

it all depends on how much ya wanna spend...
i read an article comparing the MOTU 828 with the Hammerfall PCMIA thingy and the MOTU was way behind. the 828 is pretty expensive anyway, so if ya care for highest quality you might wanna check it out at

hay mate - I saw you playing live this weekend at Ugly Funk v Dead Silence - were you using 'LIVE' then? great set BTW
I'm thinking of getting a Ti G4 or I-Book to run this prog - how was it?
but i've been reading all sorts about them on this forum so not sure what to do. you may or may not remeber I chatted to you about me building a PC, I need a portable too - to replace the MAC my PC will be taking over its physical space in the studio. anyrate I need a portable MAC to keep all my Mac files n peices - so I thought it would be great to usie it for live stuff running LIVE.
anyway.....
