and you know this because?

this sounds like someone going through RDJ's back catalogue and copying it. so its either him on a board sunday afternoon trying to re capture his old vibes, or someone ripping him off. either way its quite good though. but music has moved on. I dont quite know how he can put experimental in the description when this kind of music was being written over 10 years ago. its more formulaic than experimental really. enjoyable listen defo though

because it sounds exactly like aphex?
maybe it isnt, but if not, its one of the most authentic-sounding 'fakes' i've heard

it sounds TOO much like AFX! if this is him then he disappoints. for an experimental musician to regurgitate music he was doing a decade ago seems a bit off to me. i'm not saying its not good, just a bit dated. i hope it is rdj, because otherwise some poor bastard has spent years of his life trying yo copy someone elses music.

listen to untitled 97, this is either an outake from the RDJ album or some poor git is copying music from the 90s and passing it off as experimental.

interestingly under his record label name he has put Sin contrato discográfico

which translates as "without record label" and then puts record label type: major underneath......afx humour....or not......

2 things rankle with me

A) the reverb doesnt sound like afx reverb
b) the 303 doesnt sound like afx 303

other than that its spot on. but those are arguably his 2 biggest give aways to knowing if its rdj or not. of course he could know that and hence started using a different reverb and 303.......its all so confusing...

yeah,

i'm not saying whoever wrote it doesnt have skillz, but it just seem as bit off to me like the worlds first afx/squarepusher cover band. and as highyl skilled as they are, if this is true where is the art?

Sounds like a mix of his drill'n'bass and his analord acid techno...

Dunno.

He said a few times he has a massive amount of unreleased stuff, he may have made it along time ago.

What I'd like to know is, over 7 years on from 'Drukqs', will we ever see an new Aphex Twin album?

Loved the AFX 'Analord' stuff of course, but 'Drukqs' for me went in such an interesting direction that was reigned in with the 'Analord' releases.

i think it has something to do with warp records owning the aphex twin name. and druqks was a kind of end of contract album. or something like that. doubtfull we will see any more aphex twin branded stuff, it will all be either AFX, Analord or tuss i would imagine. i really dig his tuss stuff, seemed better than this possibly new/old stuff.

Really? Did he have a falling out with them then?

I guess at this point in his career he doesn't really need the help of a label, though :D
