hi !
i have an old opcode midi interface which is great, but it only
has a parallel port, so it won't connect to my laptop. will a
usb-to-parallel adapter work ? has anyone tried that ?

I can't remember if I've actually tried it. But I seem to rememeber that so-called USB to parallel adapters typically give you "USB printing support" rather than a true parallel port. So I'm gonna say "probably not".
