Nostromo n52 on intel mac 10.5.5

Post by borg » Wed Jan 07, 2009 1:43 pm

Anyone got it working?

Just got a 2008 MBP and I can't get it running on this machine. When I install the latest software I can find (nostromo array 20-d05), I only get the uninstall array thing in utilities. When I install array that came with the device/cd (ver1.1), it installs properly, but the device is not detected (tried it directly and through powered USB hub). If I try to install the new array over this version, everything has disappeared again...

Plugging the device into my old PB (10.3.9), everything is just fine and dandy...

If anyone has got this working, please let me know how and/or send me a working array version.

Many thanks in advance!

Umm?
Have you tried down loading and running the very latest software from the support section of the relevant site? Quite often the software that comes on a disk with the product is out of date the day you get it.

the nostromo doesn't work here either. It is a long time since I tried it out, but I think it worked with the power pc mac and stopped working with intel mac.

Thanks for the answers!

Homebelly, the belkin site has that 20d05 version (although their link doesn't work, got it from another site). It is announced as universal binary, although it only says "10.2, 10.3, 10.4". This version does nothing at all... At least the CD 1.1 version runs, it just doesn't recognize the hardware :?

Indeed, no problem on the G4 PB...

Get ControllerMate. It's $15, takes about an hour to learn and a couple more to program, and controls the n52 better than Belkin's software did. You can control the LEDs & everything.

When you get it programmed right, it's one of the top 5 Live controllers ever. It sped up my track warping X2 or X3.

Just hooked my Nostromo up tonight with this driver:

Freaking awesome for Live, I can't believe I haven't set this up sooner

I also have ControllerMate, which rocks, but this n52 driver is super easy to setup key bindings with from system prefs menu

hey OvertoneZero,

just wondering how you got it right...
I have no luck with your link (same driver as i tried before). The only thing being installed is the uninstall program in utilities.
Also, I get this strange message when restarting the computer to initiate nostromo array, something about caching/booting...

tried it with the n52 disconnected and connected... no luck

tried the controller mate a couple of months ago, but didn't get deep enough to actually convince me...
