"Plus! Don't miss the "Ableton Agenda 2009" press conference on January 15, 11AM at the Ableton booth."
... that don't sound like an announcement of Live 8 , more than a plan file what they wanna do this year ...

Hmmm.
Not that I particularly care (quite happy with 7 at the moment), but surely this would be the normal course of action at NAMM - an announcement of what the company plans to do in 2009? - IMO this would be entirely the appropriate course of action for the Abes to take whether or not they announce Live 8.
Surely a new release would form part of a company's "Agenda" for the year, no?

They need to get this Serato thing working.
How long since they showed the DJs any love?

I know, right? They totally pander to that serialist European avant-garde early-twentieth-century crowd. Hey Ableton, I know that's where the money is, but don't forget there's music beyond Schoenberg!

Have you seen any beta testing going on here? No.
How long do they usually do beta testing? At least several months.
Sorry, but 8 isn't going to drop at NAMM, so an "agenda" is about all they can announce.
Get out your day-planners.

Just an announcement would be nice.
Unless they have radically re-thought their beta testing strategy Live 8 won't be appearing soon, but I would hope for a new version sometime this year, so perhaps they will at least announce their plans for the next version.

So the money is in the "serialist European avant-garde early-twentieth-century crowd"?
... i knew i was doing something wrong!!!
but why is this valid information not in the live manual???

I am in no rush for live 8. I would rather they didn't release it in 2008 and do a really big well tested release next year.
Live 7 was really buggy when they first released it, so waiting for soemthing more polished would make me happy
But of course I am very keen to see what is happening with the cycling74 relationship. Dont really care about the serato stuff as i dont dj.

Maybe beta testing isn't being done quite so publicly this time.
